History of Aston Martin DB4
The Aston Martin DB4 is a GT (Gran Tourer /Gran Turismo) produced from 1958 to 1963. With a completely new body, the DB4 remplaced the DB Mark III (see photo just below) with a new engine designed by Tadek Marek, Polish automobile engineer. The model was presented at the 1958 London Motor Show. In five-year of production, the DB4 has five different Series.

Just for info : The initials DB stand for David Brown, owner of Aston Martin between 1947 and 1972.
In order to compete with the Italians, the Aston Martin DB4 Superleggera coachwork was done by Touring in Milan. The Touring's concept was an assembly of light alloy panels fixed to a framework of steel tubes welded to the chassis.
The second version, Series II as this example, appeared in 1960. The design doesn't change a lot but the mechanics has some updates especially to decrease overheating problems of the first Series.
"Performance, controllability and comfort have been combined in the Aston Martin DB4 to make it a highly desirable car: one in which long journeys can be completed very quickly indeed with the minimum of risk or discomfort and the maximum of pleasure" - The Motor Magazine (source : Bonhams)
Specification
The Aston Martin DB4 is equipped with DOHC straight six 3670 cc engine producing 240 hp at 5000 rpm. The car can reach a top speed of 225 kmh (140 mph) and can reach 100 kmh in 9.3 seconds.
This example was left hand drive for the French Aston Martin importer Garage Mirabeau in Paris. It was originally finished in Sea green with a white gold interior trim. Now, the car is more traditional with a metallic grey over a black leather interior. Too bad, in green, it gives a more British accent 😀
Perfect car for a gentleman
