During its Parisian sale Les Grandes Marques du Monde next week, Bonhams is offering up this impeccable 1960 Maserati 3500 GT Coupé with an estimated price of € 170,000. Georgeous car with a coachwork done by Carrozzeria Touring, founded in Milan in 1926.

History of Maserati 3500 GT
The Maserati 3500 GT is a Grand Tourer produced between 1957 and 1964 in two versions : coupé with a coachwork by Carrozzeria Touring or convertible by Vignale.

Despite many successes on tracks (with especially the fifht World Championship of Juan Manuel Fangio behind the wheel of Maserati 250F in 1957), Maserati had some financial difficulties that forced it to stop racing to focus on the production of roadcars. The Touring bodied 3500 GT was presented during the 1957 Geneva Auto Show. It was the first example of GT with series production.
The Maserati 3500 GT Coupé was built at 2,000 examples with a design of Giulio Alfieri creator of the Tipo 61 Birdcage and for the development the 250F. Just for info, the Spider was built only at 242 examples and presented two years later in 1959 at the Salon de l'Auto of Paris with a design of Giovanni Michelotti, Italian designer working for Vignale.

The Maserati 3500 GT is equipped with a twin-overhead-camshaft six-cylinder engine producing 220 hp based on the engine used in the 250F :

In 1989, this example was tested on the road with a top speed of 203 kmh and a 0 100 kmh in just 10.6 seconds. Rather impressive for an old car (29 years).
This model is finished in its original colour, white with a red leather interior. The interior is just stunning...
