in #car2 years ago

We continue with the Ferrari from 1961 250 GTE to 1968 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 that will be auctioned during the sale RM Sotheby's which takes place on the famous Monaco Formula 1 track on May 14th. After the first part From Ferrari 1961 250 GTE to 1968 365 GT 2+2, we finish this series with the different models of the Prancing Horse in the 60's and 70's starting with this stunning Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider :

And we will end with the least successful Ferrari / Pininfarina model of these two decades, the 1976 Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2. You'll say what you think of this model. Good news, here's a follow-up of my previous post about this RM Sotheby's Monaco sale with estimated prices that have been updated :

1973 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider

To compete the Lamborghini Miura, the Ferrari 365 GTS/4, aka Ferrari Daytona, was presented at the Paris Auto Salon in 1968 and produced between 1968 and 1973. This model was named after the Ferrari's victory at the Daytona 24 Hours in the US in 1967 with the Ferrari 330 P4 prototype driven by Lorenzo Bandini and Chris Amon.

Designed by Leonardo Fioravanti from Scaglietti, this examople is one of the 122 Daytona Spiders built and finished in yellow (aka Giallo Fly - I always love the name of the Ferrari colors 😀) over a black leather interior and a Nero soft-top. I would love to sit behind this wheel to feel the Colombo V-12 engine...

And perfect for comparison, there is also the GTB model in the same color. This is a version converted by to Group IV Competition specification. Only 27 examples of the Daytona Competizione were built with great result on the tracks (4th at the 1971 Tour de France then 1st and 2nd in 1972, 1st in class at the 1972, 1973, 1974 24 Hours of Le Mans...). A pure beast...

1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS

For the Formula Two racing, Ferrari presented in 1966 at the Turin Motor Show, the Dino 206 GT penned by Pininfarina. A prototype was displayed one year before at Paris. The car was named after Enzo Ferrari's late son Alfred Dino Ferrari. The Dino 206 was a success on the track and on the road, first Ferrari manufactured in high numbers. In late 1969, the Dino 246 GT replaced the 206 with a steel's body designed by Scaglietti. The Targa version aka 246 GTS was presented in 1972, and was an immediate success. Ferrari produced 2,295 GT and 1,274 Spiders. One of my favorite Ferrari thanks to its unique design, non ?

And we finish with the least beautiful model by Pininfarina in the 70's decade with this 1976 Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2. We feel the spirit of the 80's coming. less curves more angles. The Ferrari 365 GT4 was produced in 525 examples between 1972 and 1976.

The rear end isn't much better than the front (I'm not nice with this car 😀). But it's still a little something knowing that it hides under its hood a 4.4-liter V-12 capable of reaching 245 kmh. This example is finished in Oro Kelso (I said I liked the Ferrari color name) over black leather interior.

The Ferrari 365 GT4 looks like it was designed in Soviet Russia lol Not a pretty car. I love the Dino 246 GT. It is beginning to look like modern Ferraris.

You're absolutely right with the 365 GT4 with this design from the Soviet Russia 😂
