The Outsider/El visitante

With the kaleidoscope of series that are now available, most of them to entertain (watch out here, that a series can be just entertaining and still be a great series) and get out of the way, instead of making a series that has something else to offer. With all that the internet can offer, and with five months basically locked up at home, consuming content is almost mandatory, but the truth is that it is difficult to find something that seriously catches my attention. I do not want to sound pretentious, but it is more than clear that I am not the only one who happens, saying to yourself "today I will watch a series, read something, watch a movie ...", and end up doing nothing, since nothing calls you the attention enough.

Con el caleidoscopio de series que se consiguen ahora, la mayoría para entretener (ojo aquí, que una serie puede ser puramente entretenida y aun así ser una grandiosa serie) y salir del paso, en vez de hacer una serie que tenga algo más para ofrecer. Con todo lo que internet puede ofrecer, y con cinco meses básicamente encerrado en casa, consumir contenido es hasta casi obligatorio, pero la verdad es que es difícil encontrar algo que en serio me llame la atención. No quiero sonar pretencioso, pero está más que claro que no soy el único al que le pasa, decirte a ti mismo “hoy veré una serie, leeré algo, veré una película…”, y terminar haciendo nada, ya que nada te llama la atención lo suficiente.

With that said, I want to talk about "The Outsider," a ten-part series produced by HBO, based on the novel of the same name written by Stephen King. A series that constantly changes pace and delivers an incredible premise: Terry Maitland is accused of killing a child, and there is enough evidence to arrest him; there are videos, witnesses and even fingerprints, but the only problem is that Terry was miles away from the event, the night of the murder.

Con esto dicho, quiero hablar de “The Outsider”, una serie de diez capítulos producida por HBO, basada en la novela del mismo nombre escrita por Stephen King. Una serie que cambia constantemente de ritmo y entrega una premisa increíble: Terry Maitland es acusado de matar a un niño, y hay pruebas suficientes para arrestarlo; hay videos, testigos y hasta huellas, pero el único problema es que Terry estaba a kilómetros de distancia del suceso, la noche del asesinato

With such an impressive premise and first chapter, it is impossible not to stop watching the series, strange as it gets. And when I say strange, I mean strange for those who do not know Stephen King, with his supernatural style that begins to appear in the series from the third chapter. This can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the person you ask, but the truth is that the series has a decline and many things that can be reproached. However, and as I said before, it is difficult to find a series with this rhythm and that is so well done, especially knowing that it will be a series of only one season. The Outsider is a series that you cannot miss this quarantine.

Con una premisa y un primer capítulo tan impresionante, es imposible no dejar de ver la serie, por extraña que se ponga. Y cuando digo extraña, hablo de extraña para los que no conocen a Stephen King, con su estilo sobre natural que empieza a aparecer en la serie a partir del tercer capítulo. Esto puede ser algo bueno o algo malo dependiendo de la persona a la que se le pregunte, pero la verdad es que la serie tiene un declive y muchas cosas que se le pueden reprochar. Sin embargo, y como dije antes, es difícil encontrar una serie con este ritmo y que esté tan bien hecha, sobre todo sabiendo que será una serie de una sola temporada. The Outsider es una serie que no puedes perderte esta cuarentena.
