WOULD YOU CONSIDER INVESTING YOUR TIME AND ENERGY into raising kids as investment in your future?

INTRODUCTION

line2.png

A long while ago I've met an amazing person on Steemit and we became friends since then.

@Fucho80 is his name and we've been closely in touch for the past several months.

I've learned to value him a lot and respect his work as a Pastor in a smaller town somewhere in Venezuela.

He quickly became an important part of "project hope" and many of you surely know him already by now.

Recently, I've learned that his wife is about to give birth and I'm honestly terrified thinking of health conditions that may await them at the hospital. Naturally, part of me worries about them and for that reason I decided to ask you to join my little "quest" and also to share your view on the idea of "raising kids as an investment in our future".

CALL FOR ACTION

line2.png

Obviously if you're in a position to help @fucho80 and his family with some small transfer of STEEM tokens, then please do not feel shy. Be generous instead :)
I've just transfered 100 STEEM, however I do not expect anyone else to support this case with similar amount. You can always resteem and upvote this publication (fucho80 will receive 100% rewards from this post as I set up his account as a beneficiary).

Perhaps you could also consider delegating 1 STEEM (literally one).
That simple gesture will not really change his financial situation for better, but it will surely show that we care. Sometimes it's what matters most.

WOULD YOU CONSIDER RAISING KIDS AS AN INVESTMENT IN OUR FUTURE?

line2.png

I would like to take the opportunity to ask you that very simple question.

We've all witnessed our culture and mindset change within the past several years.

Tradition is being pushed out by technology and it's obvious that in larger cities relationships between parents and their kids are changing.

When I was young, I've learned that having kids is the best investment for the future one can plan. I was told number of times, that once we get old there won't be anyone but our kids to look after us. And I've been wondering if this is really the case in current times? Especially when I see some developed countries, where kids are considered "goverment property" and parents are only privillaged to raise them. That surely creates a very unique mindset.

I personally am not so sure about our future as parents. With the advancement of technology, smartphones, social media, IoT, 5G etc. it's hard not to realize that there will be less and less we all will have in common with our future generation. So perhaps it's the right time to ask ourselfs these few questions:

  • how to raise our kids?
  • how to ensure that they will not abandon us in the future?
  • do we even believe that tradition of kids taking care of their parents will still exist in the next 20-30 years?

I would love to hear your opinion.

Yours, Piotr

Hello Piotr,

nice initiative for your friend @fucho80’s family! Congrats @fucho80 to your new family member!

how to raise our kids?

Give them as much room as possible to let them grow into independent and strong people. Make sure that all they need to succeed in this is available to them.

how to ensure that they will not abandon us in the future?

Don't do that! It's their choice to abandon or not to abandon. If their environment of upbringing has showed this to be a part of society as a whole they maybe will consider not to abandon us.

do we even believe that tradition of kids taking care of their parents will still exist in the next 20-30 years?

We see these traditions erode right now already. Many families have to generate at least two incomes to keep everything economically a float. Taking care of the elders is tough with both parents working. In my estimation the future in this doesn't look all peachy and nice. I believe we'll have less multi generation families under one roof and more placing of elders in nursing homes or with dedicated payed help in their homes. One factor might also be service robots that will be used to reduce such costs further.

Cheers!

Hi @doifeellucky,

nice initiative for your friend @fucho80’s family! Congrats @fucho80 to your new family member!

Thank you for the support and good wishes for my family.

Dear @doifeellucky

Thank you for dropping by and sharing your thoughts with us. I absolutely appeciate it.

Also thumbs up for resteeming my publication :)

how to ensure that they will not abandon us in the future?
Don't do that! It's their choice to abandon or not to abandon.

I don't think anyone would like this advice. We all need to think about our future and influencing our kids and building their awareness is a must in my opinion. Waiting and hoping that our kids will take care of us in the future is almost like praying to god to solve all our problems :)

One factor might also be service robots that will be used to reduce such costs further.

Very good point. Something I never thought about.

I already have my investment in bringing up children. What was true twenty years ago, as if it wasn't today. But it is still the best one can do. Technology will not teach us humanity. That's why parents are here.

Delegated to the cause. Great article. So true that children are the best investment for our future. Best regards.

Dear Piotr, thank you to share with us this important matter as our childs.
In this world where pollution and ecology are going every day worse, how can i be sure my son will survive after 50 years? He is now 5 years old and i am doing all my best to give him the base to live when he will be adult, but this is not enough, we need to act now about our planet ecology and your country have to stop to use carbon as main material for create energy, this would be the first step in the way to save our planet.

Congratulations to @fucho80!

I am not sure what you meant by "investment" in this context. Are you referring to potential future monetary returns?

I personally think that raising a kid should never be treated as an "investment". I think one should not have any expectations on your kids as a form of revenue stream in the future. I think the older generation (especially Chinese) had this thinking of raising kids for future financial security. That's fundamentally flawed. I think as a responsible adult, one should be planning for his/her own finances to ensure there's sufficient money for retirement. We should not impose additional stress on future generations

Congratulations to @fucho80!

Thank you friend @culgin, thanks for that support for my family.

Thx for dropping by and sharing your thoughts @culgin

I am not sure what you meant by "investment" in this context. Are you referring to potential future monetary returns?

In general as "investment" I mean that we use our resources (time, money, energy) to raise kids hoping that one day they can help us to survive once we're old.

Perhaps I'm seeing children being "an investment" because I've spent to many years living around Chinese people (either chinese-malaysians or chinese-singaporians) and that's how they seem to "work". They raise kids so in the future kids would take care of them (parents usually move to live with their own kids, even if they are married and have families). Level of independence in those communities is very ... I would say "low".

Yours
Piotr

I think that's a mindset of the older generations. I believe that it is everyone's own responsibility to plan for your own finance. So I don't think we should treat raising kids as an investment. By treating you kids as investment, you are putting unnecessary stress on them and at the same time risks on yourself. That's my 2 cents :)

Technology will move forward, new development takes places daily which will not be stopped, it is human nature to explore.

What is not human nature is walking around with blinkers on, the lack of food and water resources should stop anyone in their tracks before considering bringing more children into an over-burdened world.

Children do not owe the parents anything in their old age, where does this notion come from that one must not prepare for your own old age. Children face many different obstacles on life's path, I know many beliefs support the idea/notion that children must look after their aged parents.

Looking around at my own situation, a country with the highest number of youth in the world, the highest unemployment, crime is rampant, when do people take account of themselves?

Long term solutions need to be sought after, assisting where we are able never makes the problem go away, one child going to bed hungry is one child too many!

Big thx for your comment and for sharing your opinion on discussed topic @joanstewart

Looking around at my own situation, a country with the highest number of youth in the world, the highest unemployment, crime is rampant, when do people take account of themselves?

Sounds scary. What country do you have on your mind?

Yours,
Piotr

Hi, I live in South Africa where things are not great, the situation is as stated, a staggeringly high number of youth sitting without employment, many are unskilled.

Nearly every young woman under the age of 30 has at least one child, most are not married. "Social Welfare for children" introduced into any country is not a solution, where the parent is given a monthly amount for children to the age of 18 year old, certain requirements do need to be met, (however, many have babies of their own, before they themselves are age 18 years old).

Approximate amount is USD30/month currently, which really is not much money at all. With birth control everywhere I find it confusing to think people attempt to use this method to exist by having more children, a wild cycle of poverty.

Social Welfare money should be used for the aged, mentally handicapped, disabled, foster children where many have been abandoned. If there is additional money coming in then national health benefits, education should be taken into consideration first.

Of the 969 415 births registered in 2016, 136 996 (13,9%) were born to mothers who were between the ages of 10 and 19 years old.
Births registered (more than 60%) without details of fathers. Source

From movies, I think kids taking care of their parents would be gone by 2025 but it's still here in Africa. Raising a kid as an investment in this day is not a wise thing to do. They grow wings and fly away so early.

This is the kind of thinking that burdens kids. Yes it's the thought culture of older generation but yes it is already outdated. It causes resentment in adulthood to find out you're alive only to be used by your parents and not because you are a product of their love. Nope. Don't have kids if you're only going to use them when you grow old.

Let's have the decency and respect to have our own investment for the older version of ourselves. Let's change that burdening thought culture and be proud to have children because of love not because they will be a source of money and will be our future caretakers.

Yes it is a culture, not only in China but elsewhere too. It's one of the practices we should change as current adults. We are the only ones who can change the future. Let's hope and pray the next generation can do better than us too.

I do feel that I need to raise my kids to be good people but I don't worry about doing it so they can take care of me. I don't see this being as big in the future. As tech keeps on making life at home easier here the west I doubt it will be needed as much. I also lost my parents pretty young so I am aware that I might not even be there for them to take care of.

This is why now that my oldest is 4 I am starting to talk to her about being a good person and being her own person. I was raised to do the right thing when I can. I want to make sure she is the same way. I also want to make sure she will be away that not all people are that way. But not to worry if they fool you once just not to let it happen again. I think that if we can do this then if we need their help later in life they will be ready to give it.

I do get that if you don't live in a country like mine it might be different

Appreciate your valuable feedback @stever82. Seriously amazing comment buddy.

Hi dear @fucho80

Wow friend, what a great happiness I feel for you and your family. the children are the extension of our life, and one could get to love them more than our own life, for them we are capable of doing things never thought, I must clarify as long as they are honest things for us and for others.

I congratulate you on the arrival of your Hij @ his uncle @lanzjoseg sends him many Blessings, that he is born healthy and strong. Just being born in Venezuela is a Winner and Winner.

Friend. as you well know all the problems that we can have and that everything that we gain here we sell it to buy food that is my case .. at this moment I do not have a penny that serves for you. but on my first payment I receive today I will send it to you ..

Blessings to your family.

Hello my dear teacher @lanzjoseg, all my respect and thanks to you.

I congratulate you on the arrival of your Hij@ his uncle @lanzjoseg sends him many Blessings, that he is born healthy and strong. Just being born in Venezuela is a Winner and Winner.

Of course, being born and growing up in Venezuela today is a challenge, I am one of those who think that if God allowed us to live this difficult stage in our country, it is because I believe that we are the most qualified to survive. We are winners!

Friend. as you well know all the problems that we can have and that everything that we gain here we sell it to buy food that is my case .. at this moment I do not have a penny that serves for you. but on my first payment I receive today I will send it to you ..

Friend more than anyone I understand the situation, we fight every day to try to make a good publication, get the reward and buy food, that has been my life in the last months, thank God for this platform, people like @crypto.piotr and the whole team of "project hope".

In addition, I have learned a lot from you, from Juan, from Jose Adams and the whole team, you have helped me to grow and I am deeply grateful.
God bless you!

Blessings to your family.

Same for your family, a thousand blessings brother.
@fucho80

Hello my friend @crypto.piotr I hope all is well for you.

Congratulations to our friend @fucho80 for his baby.

Kids need more education, I think education is the most important thing in life. But This include some interesting description how to educate them.

I’m sure each description has good results and we know there are many of those ones how to educate children.

We know that our future is not secure, we can not force our children to care about us, they don’t abandon us, the only this is that they start a new life, new family... but they will always be there with us.

This new generation is changing...

I think it would be an understatement to just say caring for our children as just an investment for our future. It is I think a calling that gives full meaning of our humanity. It is who we are and nature just supports it by supplying all the love and affection we need to take care of them. With or without real world benefits I feel like loving and taking care of them all the way. By the way, thanks @crypto.piotr for always messaging us and keeping us updated of your worthwhile posts. I admire your patience and dedication in doing all of these.

  • how to raise our kids? - with love
    • how to ensure that they will not abandon us in the future? - if they been raised with love they always will be with you.
    • do we even believe that tradition of kids taking care of their parents will still exist in the next 20-30 years? - Kids are and will be connected to the parents they have because it is they real home and they love back the parents which raised them.

Many parents think they love their kids but the do not. They love them self at firs and think whats good for them has to be good for their kids but that's not love.

First and foremost, congratulations to @fucho80 and his wife on the upcoming birth of their baby.

I don't view raising children as an investment but as an act of love.

As for whether children will be there to take care of their parents in the future, I think that depends on how they were raised. If they are raised in a family where people act out of love to help and care for family members, they most likely will. If they are raised in a family that views having to take care of elderly family members as a burden and they complain about it, more than likely they won't be there to help.

I know my son grew up seeing Bob and I care for my inlaws. At a young age, he started doing small things to help them out without being asked. He was also there when I was caring for my husband when he was dying. Again DJ voluntarily stepped to help by doing what he could. DJ was 16 when his Dad died.

Since that time he has been there for my Mom, who past away in April. He has a very close relationship with my Dad and offers to help out when he sees something he can do. He acts out of love and not a sense of duty. He has grown up to be a kind, loving, and compassionate gentleman.

Wooo Congratulations you have a great boy, I think that is the result of a healthy family environment, of parents who not only talked about love but also practiced and showed love.

Instruction goes beyond teaching, teaching is based on theories, instruction teaches by example.

I don't know whether to congratulate @fucho80 or feel sorry for him. Taking care of a child today is hard, here the medical conditions are terrible, there is no medicine, it is difficult to get food, it is quite a challenge to have a child. However, I congratulate you, since having a child is also a blessing according to what my parents say.

Actually, my mother says it's a lottery, that is, they won't always turn out the way you expect in the future. However, according to her words: children will never stop being children, and the role of parents is to help and guide always the children. Children do not have to take care of parents but to make their own life taking care of their own children. It's the law of nature.

God bless you and your family!

Hello my dear @jadams2k18, thanks for your words.

Children are a blessing in any scenario, when you take care of a child you get the best out of you so you can feed and educate him. The psalmist David wrote: "I was young and I have grown old, and I have not seen just helpless, nor his seed begging for bread." There is a very difficult situation in the country, however, I think it will end and I hope in God for your blessings.

Blessings friend, thank you for your support, you are a great guy.
@fucho80

Amazing words, very beautiful 😄

It is an honor to belong to your "project hope" @crypto.piotr. To have the possibility to read your words, for my pleasure.

The education of children is becoming more and more uphill. I consider that technology, communications are a weapon that can go against that education. But at the same time they are a tool for the growth and development of our children.

Well, then. I propose that the education of our children be based on love and that contact with current technologies be in constant supervision.

Complicated to carry in these times but it is a necessity, humanity needs that quota of love, today more than yesterday.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

Thanks friend @haikubot

Thanks friend for the mention, there’re so many things that shapes our way of life which culture, religion, science and technology, love are among the lists.

But for me, I’m giving my best in training my children but not having that investment mindset with what I’m doing now, take for instance, I’m a follower of Yeshua (Jesus Christ) and I believe his teaching that instructs us not worry about the future, reason being that Christ understands the dynamics of life which keeps changing.

Understanding of today may not all alone sustain tomorrow. I believe that every parent would want the best for their children but not in the contest of what they (the parents) stand to gain afterwards from their children.

I love how @oivas has put it.

Besides, a upbringing where we are more concerned about how our child will take care of us in the future will be so full of fear and uncertainty. Isn't it?
I think we need to just live life, be happy, teach happiness and love, and kids will get it, eventually.

For our friend @fucho80, we wish him and his family all the best, be sure that everything will turn out for good dear @fucho80.

I and my family are also expecting our daughter in few weeks.

Thanks @crypto.piotr for being a wonderful friend, I’ve known him for a while especially for his sincere work of love in this blockchain. I’ll send my support to our friend @fucho80 and also follow him up to know more about him.

Still Max your friend.

Oh my God, by Yeshua's mercy one more angel expected! Nice! Happy to know @maxdevalue!

God bless you and your family too! 😊 😊

Hello @maxdevalue, thanks for your support, it is very important for my family.

But for me, I'm giving my best in training my children but not having that investment mindset with what I'm doing now, take for instance, I'm a follower of Yeshua (Jesus Christ) and I believe his teaching that instructs us not worry about the future, reason being that Christ understands the dynamics of life which keeps changing.

I am also a follower of Jesus Christ and I understand what you say, his teachings prepare us to give love without expecting anything, it happens the same with our children, we love them, we care for them, we educate them without waiting any longer, but the writing teaches; "Everything man sows that will be"

For our friend @fucho80, we wish him and his family all the best, be sure that everything will turn out for good dear @fucho80.

Thank you brother, I believe that God is in control of everything.

I and my family are also expecting our daughter in few weeks.

Woo congratulations friend, Blessings to you and your family. Could I know how many children you have and where do you live?

Thank you for taking the time and sharing your thoughts with us. Absolutely appreciate it.

The thought that a baby born now can live to see the year 2100 is amazing.

Hi Piotr,
I am older as you and I am not raised that children are an investment for your future.

Children you make take care of themselves as soon as possible, you teach them as much as they can so they can survive, have self-esteem and succeed.

Even my grandfather wanted his daughters (only children) to be independent. They both studied and provided in their own income. Women were according to him not the ones who were breeding machines and should serve man.

I do not, and never expected, my children to take care of me. They have to build their own lives and I expect them to let me do the same once they are adults.
This does not mean we do not take care of each other. We do in times of need if money is needed or a car broke etc.

In the Netherlands you have social security and there are food banks, give away shops where you can get everything for free. You do not need to die for hunger or cold unless you are lucky, want everything brand new and are too lazy to work.

The last thing I would worry about was health conditions in a hospital. In the Netherlands it is still normal to give birth at home (in a natural way without injections), breastfeeding is still stimulated and mother nature knows what to do.

There are way more chances of infections, strange batteries in a hospital as at home. If allergies run into the family it is also way better to stay at home.
You are not ill if you get a baby it is something natural.

To deliver a baby you need nothing special just to know that billions of women did it before you.

In this time I would never take children anymore. They deserve a better life and future as the aggression and rapes around us. I did not raise or prepare them for what happens now, the hate, the way they are discriminated. I guess they had the bad luck to have an old mom.

I hope they will never have children (3 out of 5 say they do not want them) and will be able to give themselves a good life wherever that may be.

Congratulations @fucho08 I hope your little one will have a bright future and your wife is doing well.

Dear @wakeupkitty

Big thx for this amazing comment and for your time.

Even my grandfather wanted his daughters (only children) to be independent.

It's clearly western mentality. I myself used to work (selling newspapers on busy roads) since age of 14 (even during winters) and I've learned to be independent as well. So I feel you.

Level of independence in those communities is very ... low.

In the Netherlands you have social security and there are food banks,

I should take it into consideration. After all Holland does take care of their own people. In majority Asian countries retirement system doesn't work so old people usually work until they die or kids take care of them. Im guessing this is the way in every undeveloped country around the world.

Piotr

Raising a child so that children become smarter and more mature in acting all depends on the upbringing of their parents, because when observed along with the development of time and technology, sometimes parents are negligent in paying attention to things like gadgets, children become addicted and become oblivious to lessons. therefore I say it all depends on the training of each parent and thank you @crypto.piort for the memos maybe now I have rarely opened steemit😄🙏

Hello!!! I don't think I can consider kids as an investment. It's your family, so you have to love and support them unconditionally... but I don't think parents should expect their kids to payback.

That's what I think, but I'm very close to my parents. They have nurtured me and raised me and were with me through thick and thin... I know it's not my obligation to give back, but I want to give whatever I can for them. They're my favorite people in the world.

I can understand kids who leave their parents and become independent... and start a life of their own. I think it's normal. But there will always be kids like me who prioritize family over everything. :) It's my choice...

So, family is family. You love and support unconditionally without expecting in return. ^^

Thx for dropping by and sharing your thoughts @tegoshei

You're welcome... :)

This is great initiative by you @crypto.piotr and congrats to @fucho80 for the baby.

As you asked if our kids will take care of us after 20-30 years then. I think this would be difficult and looking at the current scenario when we can see many kids who are not even interested to stay with their parent so after next 20 years things will not be like this. I just think that we should do our part and should not expect much from the next generation. If they do then its good but if they dont then life will be a challenge for sure.
Thank you. Resteemed and voted.

Dear @alokkumar121

we can see many kids who are not even interested to stay with their parent so after next 20 years things will not be like this.

Indeed. It's saddening but that's just the way it is. Especially in more developed countries.

Thank you for dropping by and sharing your thoughts with us. I absolutely appeciate it.

Very good point. Something I never thought about.

WOULD YOU CONSIDER RAISING KIDS AS AN INVESTMENT IN OUR FUTURE?

Absolutely fucking not. I'm not gonna raise my kids just so they become my investments in the future. NO. As parents, it is their responsibility to give their kids a good life, without needing to pressure them to help them with financial needs in the future. If you can't take care of your kids, don't have kids. If you only have kids because you see them as slaves who will work for you and will take care of you when you retire, don't have kids. Kids have their own lives. They will have their own family. It is the parent's job to feed themselves when they get old, not the kids. Honestly, this tradition is sick and needs to stop. Stop seeing kids as your investment plans.

Have kids because you believe life is beautiful and it needs to be experienced.

Big thx for your comment and for sharing your opinion on discussed topic @hiddenblade

Great topic @crypto.piotr. Well, raising children as a future investment is a core value here in Africa. Even parents with little income strive for their kids to go to university, have a well-paying job and care for them in old age. But then, as an IT person, I wont leave my entire future in the hands of kids (I have none and am single) you are not even sure of. Parents work hard to raise responsible kids, but they grow up to choose their life. SO for me, its a 50-50 thing. Instead of putting all eggs in one basket, I have planned and am working into building a reputable IT company, which I hope to grow so much that even before retirement, I have something to fall back on and a legacy for my unborn kids.

Appreciate your valuable feedback @stever82. Seriously amazing comment buddy.

Hii...@crypto.piotr , first a fall, its awesome your giving all the rewards of the post to someone who needs it, lovely.

Now, about the question your raised.

See, I don't really think having kids is good now, because we are facing a ecological crisis - there will be a world without air, water, greenery and I highly recommend everyone however harsh it may sound to not bring another being to suffer in this world. I am speaking really seriously. Please consider adopting a kid instead.

Next on kids future... I can't speak on this much, but you have to believe in love. If you grow your kids spending quality time with them, exposing them to the outdoors, doing fun activities with them, you will bond with them!!!

Please don't bother weather they will take care of you in the future, that's upto them, but our focus is to be the best parent raising kids with good values. Please believe in atleast relationship, if not humanity, I am sure kids will love and take care of their parents, if they don't, they don't.

Our job as parents is instill them values, prepare them to be the bestest them that they can be. But don't you think, parents themselves don't spend quality time with their kids, they themselves are hooked to technology, let their kids get hooked onto technology, don't notice kids, don't understand their kids, all because they are not spending quality time with them?.

It's believe we are not raising kids properly and being good role models that kids become like what you said. Teach them to love, be responsible, independent, brave, proactive, humble.

Have fun with them - play, read stories, crack jokes, do some outdoor activity, have dinners together, talk with them. Establish a bond!!!

Anyway... But I again emphasize, please don't procreate now, because the world is already finding it difficult to sustain itself. Let's work to improve soiety, ecology and enjoy life instead.

Thank you @mintymile for your super kind comment.

See, I don't really think having kids is good now, because we are facing a ecological crisis

Wow. I couldn't agree less. Noone else pointed it out.

Please don't bother weather they will take care of you in the future, that's upto them, but our focus is to be the best parent raising kids with good values.

Wise words. Again thanks for sharing your thoughts.

@crypto.piotr, In my opinion whenever people do the Family Planning then definitely most of the people never think about the Investment aspect because in my opinion it's emotional side of life. But your question deserves view point because there are people who think their children as future investments and that's why before birth they plan everything.

For example, many parents try to plan everything for their children before they see this world like he/she will going to become doctor, engineer and so on without their children's consent and what they want to do or what they will going to choose when they will going to mature.

@fucho80, Wishing you great health and wealth brother. And praying that your child will enter in this world with Almighty Blessings and will going to spread that light in your family and house.

Some light...

how to raise our kids?

Go for it... it's my way. If you think there is some preparation, forget it. You either go for it, or you don't. The rest depends more on who you are than actually who you are going to raise.

how to ensure that they will not abandon us in the future?

That's is something you can't really think about if you want to raise children. Love and freedom need to coexist. If a parent does not understand when to let go, then it's being a BAD parent. Try to learn with your children... they probably will teach you more than you to them.

do we even believe that tradition of kids taking care of their parents will still exist in the next 20-30 years?

Not even now... or 10 years ago. Call me what you wish... =) it's my view.

Big thx for your comment and for sharing your opinion on discussed topic @forykw

Congratulations @fucho80 on this blessing that comes into your life, things are difficult but let's have a lot of faith and seek God's help, and everything will be fine.

Regarding the @crypto.piotr question, I personally believe that raising our children is the best investment of a lifetime, but I don't say it in the monetary aspect or because of the possibility of being raised by them in the future, nothing like that.

As parents we have the possibility to mold the mind and heart of a human being, giving him values and the best tools for him to perform in today's world, of course, letting them develop their own identity under our guidance. Our children are the seed that we will leave in the world when we are no longer in it.

In short, I love my children, and for that simple reason, spending time with them is the best investment of my life.

Greetings my son, @rael5, I love you and your brothers

Always my pleasure. Cheers!

Congratulations to the family of @fucho80!

As for making investments of your children:
In the past when most people were hunter-gatherers, it made sense to have a large family because your offspring became your workers.

Today is quite different and most people live in cities and work at jobs away from their properties. Children become liabilities, not investments.

As for God and religion: God sent me a message saying that most religions are interpreting their religious books incorrectly. The books could only be written from the then-current comprehension of mankind and lacked the words and ideas necessary to describe what God actually is. God has no gender, and if anything, women are the ones who bring life into the world, not men, so if you MUST put a gender on God, it would have to be a woman. In the old days, women were lesser than men, so they had to make God a man to enforce the idea of power.

Hola amigo,
You are a very good man and I believe that everyone here is seen the very best in you.
Kind regards,
Cosmophobia

I think it's super important to give your children proper knowledge, attitude and level of experiencing the world. Especially in those days, when they can get so many choices online from else whom. With kids, you can not be ensured by anything, but at least you need to try to be a great parent and inspiring person....which is not easy all the time.
PS. all the best to @fucho80 and his newborn child!
