The wife wanted to go to our local Garden Centre today, I think it was more for something to do than to actually buy anything. If you want the honest truth, I was surprised we were allowed to take Charlie in although having said that they do have a pet section there.
As we arrived the security guard shot us with his 'have you got COVID? Temperature gun' and then said: "You'll either have to carry your dog or put him in a trolley. It's the COVID rule I'm afraid." This is a prime example of COVID stupidity if you ask me. How is it possibly better to have a dog pushed around in a shopping trolley rather than having it walk on the floor? A trolley that shoppers will use after us and will be putting their shopping in it unawares our dog was in it earlier?
But it gets worse! After a short while, Charlie worked out what was going on and settled down to a leisurely 'push' around the displays. Looks like we'll have to get him a pushchair for Christmas! 🤦♂️
You mean COVIDiocy? I think companies are trying to cover themselves according to their interpretation of the current rules (as in the last 5 minutes). Must be a nightmare if you have the public coming through your premises. I foresee a big flare-up after Xmas as people are going to want to get together. It won't kill us to not do so despite what some attention-seekers say.
If you thought the images of people at illegal raves and the initial pictures of insane queues at the likes of Peacocks was jaw-dropping you just wait for the all the shops to open on the 1st December!
