Hm. France, Germany, and Italy, are the ones slavishly licking China's boots. They're also the three leading the charge to appease Putin. I seem to recall another time, back in the '30's and '40's, when these three nations just couldn't stay on the right side of history. It seems some nations truly never learn.

Well, to be fair, Vichy-France ended up on the wrong side under duress.
That's true, but a case could be made that they are all three under duress (namely, from China) this time.
