A Challenge for CineTV plus a TV series review

in #cinetv3 years ago

CineTV, a ManCave production, is a new HIVE interface that centers on TV shows and movies. The interface rewards users with the venerable CINE token.

I confess. During the pandemic, I've been watching old TV shows and movies on YouTube.

Watching old shows is fun. Using Youtube isn't.

I hope that people use CineTV.io to promote alternative video interfaces.

There is a huge number of old movies and TV shows on this planet. Some of them are in the public domain. Some are owned by people who would love to get some money for their investments.

The CineTv group might benefit by finding ways to license and publish some of these old shows on blockchain friendly platforms.

My Review - Highlander TV Series

I've been watching a TV Series called "Highlander." The TV series was produced from 1992 to 1998. It is based on a movie released in 1986.

This is the Full Playlist for Highlander for the TV series.

A company called Cinedigm uploaded the series to Youtube. The first episode of the series, shown below, reports to have had over a million views.

Cinedigm is a film production company. Apparently Cinedigm holds the rights to the series. Their web site claims to have a library of over 50,000 shows.

I understand that there are numerous companies that own rights to shows. I think that it would be fun to figure out how to legally broadcast of few of these shows on HIVE related sites.

Anyway, the idea behind Higlander is that an alien race deposited "immortals" throughout human history. The immortals were raised in different cultures and during different eras. So each immortal picks up elements of the culture where the immortal appeared.

This is a fun premise as it allows the show to explore the various ways that different cultures interfaced with other people.

The immortals are locked in a game where they have sword fights. When one immortal takes the head of another, the immortal gains the power and experiences of the opponent.

In other words. The show is one long sword fight interrupted by witty dialogue and scenes from historical settings.

The first show has the title "The Gathering" it indicates that the immortals would soon congregate at a location for a final battle. While the gathering doesn't actually happen, the show stitches together the lives of Connor MacLeod, the focus of the movie, and Duncan MacLeod who is an immortal from the same region.

The playlist contains 117 shows.
