As the very Canadian themed title of this post hints at, about a week ago I'd speculated we'd be moving into the online public beta testing phase of the Hive.Loans service. While putting in an excessive amount of hours into the past week trying to meet this prediction I've yet to get the local beta development code to a point where I'd be comfortable allowing users to run amuck on. As noted above some things out of the box on v0.1.0 public beta testing launch some limits will be in place to prevent a free for all of capital flowing into the untested site off the hop.
While trying to find a balance between having the upcoming public beta testing bring a fully featured site and trying to avoid a "rolling" beta release continually having features adding to it extending time before a stable release is realized unfortunately the planned launch date was flown over.
Having a service of this complexity being developed by what effectively consists of a single individual developer team with that lone individual also acting as customer support most of the time (not to mention the other services' obligations) sometimes leads to not enough hours in the day being present to keep up with everything. Working on automating everything possible to relieve some of the pressure of running multiple services
It however stands to be said this is no excuse for the stupidity of underestimating the development hours left before a safe to use public beta test version of Hive.Loans can be pushed online.
The finishing up of a number of critical site / application systems is what I'm focused on here tonight and until v0.1.0 is ready to go online for public testing. Hoping for an end of month launch of this provided the next week goes well development and testing wise. Unfortunately v0.1.0 won't have it's mobile display rendering included making the beta testing less than properly accessible to mobile users, I apologize and realize the importance of having mobile display support is decisive in the success of web based businesses these days. An update shortly after the v0.1.0 beta test release launch will focus solely on getting mobile / tablet application rendering wrangled as it's quite important and was an oversight on my behalf not having it ready for this upcoming launch.
