One of the common ways of getting attack is punch. Everyone knows it and anyone can throw a punch. Recently I have made a post about whether you can see a punch or not in a fight. Sometimes when you are in a fight, you can see a punch. Sometimes you have no idea someone can punch you and you just don't see it coming.
If you do not see a punch coming towards you, how can you defend that? You can learn different blocks and parry. But if you do not see an attack, you are not going to block that. So it is important to see the attack in order to defend yourself.
When you feel someone can attack you on the street, be careful and keep an eye on his movement. If he/she stands in a fighting stance, making the distance between legs and hands up, you can see the punch easily. A little movement of his/her hands can make you aware of what's going to happen.
In a street fight, you usually see people do not stand in a fighting stance. So they can punch you suddenly. If you want to see the punch coming towards you, pay attention to his body movement. He might step back before doing the punch. Stepping back can be an indication to make a distance to throw a punch if somehow he/she is close to you.
See his shoulder movement. Whenever the person throws a punch, you can see his/her shoulder moves. Shoulder movement is a good indicator of throwing a punch. Now when you see what's coming, you can do parry or block that attack. As soon as you defend yourself, counter-attack and do not give him a chance to attack you more. Understanding the situation can give you a better idea of how to deal with that attacker.
