The Most Dangerous Writing Contest

This week's contest would be a heck load of fun because you will be pushed to your wits and creativity. You would need to think on your toes and churn out spontaneous yet sensible sentences. I've seen many have fallen to this app and have chosen to never write again....Muahahahha, I present to you 'The Most Dangerous Writing Contest'. The whole point of this app is to actually help writers brainstorm quick ideas and to get out of the writer's block. Often time, as a creative myself, I often do get artist block where we stare at the canvas for a few minutes and sometimes even failing to begin anything. The only way to start anything is by actually just STARTING ANYTHING. It is the same goes to what this app is planning to achieve. To help writers get out of 'thinking too much'.

Why is this the most dangerous writing contest? Here's a tip, the words will disappear if you stop writing for too long. Now, you will be given a few writing prompts to choose from and begin writing from there. Choose wisely... Will you survive?

Muahhahha....poof

I Do: Nothing Ever Felt Easier to Say by @wwwiebe

I remember a number of years ago - in reality it was.. well... that doesn't really matter. It was a long time ago. Regardless, I was in my teens, and I had a hard time speaking. It wasn't that I didn't know what to say, I just didn't know how to say it. Whenever I tried to engage in small talk - or large talk, if that's a term - it always just ended up as "mumblejumblebumble."

"So, I get to my job, and I'm thinking it's going to be an easy in and out, two seconds tops. Should've know better, right?
I walk up to my target and tap her on the shoulder, and as politely as possible, say, 'Excuse me, ma'am...'

The Siren of the Sea by @free-reign

One evening while I was out with my boat, I must have hit my head on something, because I think I lost consciousness for a good while. You see, I had this experience that happened, or it was a dream. I would like to think it's a dream, but I believe I actually may have met up with a Nymph, or Siren of the sea.

Ok, this will not be easy. But I am gonna tell you a very personal story, something that happened to me in real life, to the man behind @whatsthatcryptom. It was something on my bucket list, I HAD to do this before I die.

King of the Bucket by @manoldonchev

Of all the items ever bucketlisted, there's a king, as hoigh and mighty as they go. The king of items on all bucket lists, big and small, mine or others' clean or not.

It was the Clean My Room, III of his name...for today. Because he was but a descendant of kings of items and good intentions of mothers from noble purposes...I mean families.

Granny was grumpy, so grumpy she did not even meet me at the door. Instead, she was sitting at her table knitting socks as I let myself in.

There were socks everywhere. Socks on the table, socks on the counters, socks hanging over the faucet knobs, socks on the stove, socks on the TV, on the door knob, covering her bed and the stairs to the attic.

I had to ask. "Granny! What are all these socks for?"

Congratulations

Thank you @browery for the curation :)

Just perusing the entries. Some excellent stuff as always! Great job everyone!

Hahah, I was hoping to see your entry!!! :(

Haha, that timer scares the pants off of me! ;)

This is the first time I used the app and it was wonderful! It took me a few tries to understand that I could not stop writing, and once I just let go, the words just came blurting out. And they were good! I'm sold. Try it!

Haha, see @plantstoplanks! A living testimony :) I'm glad it helped you in a way

Oh it was amazing. It was as if I was not doing anything at all, the story unfurled itself. I did nothing but type, slowly enough to not make typos. Really cool stuff. Thanks for making me use it.

Haha, one of these days maybe. ;)

Thank you! Especially for requiring that we use the app. It was so much fun! Congrats to all the others, I'll be over to read them today.

Hehe i'm glad you loved using it!

And I thank you once more for the challenge and fun! And for the fun challenge, too. I wonder what's gonna be next...

Sneaky man! But thanks so much for being super nice to everyone (after torturing us with the app... 😂 ).

Congratulations to all the PHC winners.gif

Hahaha, you know I can't just let you all suffer and not make you guys happy again. haha

We all miss things sometimes, and I missed a big one! Just now when I looked, I missed the explanation in this very post of what the purpose of the 5 minute writing aims to remedy - writer's block!

Anyway, a couple of co-entrants indicated the writer block's "usefulness" potential of using the most dangerous app in replies to my post, which woke me up.

Since I only started writing stories and other prose a few months ago, having written mostly poetry during my whole life before steemit, (and software), I haven't really hit a writer's block situation yet, but I know its time will come, and I do now see there is value in the most dangerous writing app.

Congrats everyone! I've already checked out couple of posts and will be reading the others.

And of course, those of us who participated now understand the value in this exercise, thanks to our creative contest master; a guy that knows how to make a great contest, @zord189!

Hahah, if u haven't had a writer's block, I hope you never get one! You're a very creative guy. I can tell from all the posts you churn out! This app does serve its purpose when we had to do a Steemit bootcamp in Malaysia for the Steemians. The ones who were a little weaker in writing managed to actually come out with something because of how 'forceful' this app is. HAHAHAH! :)

Thanks for the support always! <3

Yes, I fully see the potential for this app now, though I think to get useful results, it still requires having at least some idea of what to type first, to get the whole thing started.

I hope I never have writer's block too, but I fully know that's not going to continue. This is all still somewhat fresh to me now, and I think that not having the blockage so far is definitely in my favor. But if it's happened to the greats, it'll certainly happen to this lowly writer!

Thanks for the kind words!

I was able to have the chance to read some of these and they were pretty damn awesome! Congrats to the winners!!! Well done!
