I've mentioned before that when I was a kid I'd stay up late and watch all the scary shows. I remember watching Kolcheck in this episode when I was around 13. I watched it again tonight and had this take away. And yes, 'they' are telling us something.
So there is a violent parasite stalking humanity and it lives among and within the casino economy and Wall St. The political and police establishment know that it's real but cover up the crimes of the beast. In fact, today they are totally aligned with it. A few stalwart investigators also know what it is and attempt to expose its existence to the general public but the elite at the top of the pyramid make sure the insights of the investigators are thwarted and dismissed as fantasy.
Whether The Exorcist or The Night Stalker they always portray the RCC and its theology as the vanquisher of the evil beast and in this episode it was a stake through the heart but anyone with any spiritual insight at all knows that this programming is misdirection because the beast cannot be defeated in any of the ways Hollywood horror portrays. It should also tell us something about the relationship between Hollywood and The Vatican.
At any rate, this series was right at the end of Hollywood's Golden Age and I can appreciate it for the feel of the era...

He doesn't look Italian to me at all and I should know because I grew up with the Italians as a kid...And yes, the Medici controlled the RCC for quite some time and I'd even suggest they control it today as Jesuits who are obviously in tight with Hollywood.
