We are having a tough time. Corona virus is a deadly virus which had killed thousands of people all over the world.

As we don't have a cure of this pandemic so far, governments all over the world have imposed lockdown within their countries. So, for this dangerous epidemic prevention is the best cure.

Now, everything is closed. Shops, malls, flights, buses, schools, churches, etc. are closed. This is lock down. Lockdown is a temporary but, an effective preventive measure until we find a solution of the problem. It can help check the spread of the virus from the infected persons to the healthy persons. Lock down is also helping mother earth to repair itself. However, there are many downsides as well. Lock down is only a temporary solution. It cannot take place of cure. It is also harming economy and rendering people jobless. Many people are suffering from hunger and frustration. Many more may be killed because of starvation, malnutrition and loss of hope. So, governments cannot impose lockdown for indefinite period.

On one hand virus is killing us and on the other side hunger can kill us.

what do you thing what should be done in this situation? Should lockdown be increased or should it be lifted immediately? Please share your views.

Thanks!

Thanks for answering the poll by @vagabondspirit .

IMHO, the government imposed lock down never should have occurred. Voluntary action was sufficient.

Voluntary action needs to continue. Specifically people with compromised immune systems (such as the elderly, people with diabetes, etc.) need to continue to self isolate. Those who go into public need to respect the space of others to help them in their self isolation efforts.

Public businesses need to keep up the extreme sanitation methods that they have adopted for the foreseeable future. Hotels need to amp up the sanitation between guests, etc.

The voluntary action needs to continue. The government imposed lock down was probably overblown, with the one exception that states should continue to screen people at the borders and air terminals.
