Here are my fully grown oysters for this #fungifriday by @ewkaw
I did some backlighting with a blueish LED light to bring out the blue caps against the whitish gills. Since these mushrooms are almost fully grown most of their color is gone but the blue LED light helps introduce some blues back into their coloring.
The block was just starting to send out spores so I had to harvest them quickly after this photoshoot.
The overall batch ended up being about the size of a softball.
At full size the caps are kind of gray blue with some more color close to the edges.
The gills are more yellowish whitish. The more dried out portions get really brownish yellow.
Here is a dried out portion that is kind of stuck between yellow, brown and light bluish gray.
These poor little fellows ended up not getting to bloom out and dried while they were just a tiny cap.
I ended up cooking these with some seafood mushrooms along with bacon and brussel sprouts with some gravy. The mixture ended up really good. As for taste the blue oysters taste pretty much like any other oyster. The only unique tasting oyster mushroom in my opinion is the pink oyster that has a hint of bacon taste to it.
Happy #fungifriday :-)

And the
cheated bluelooks great :)If I mix this light with pink or golden oysters, there might be a possibility of green or purple oysters.
