Pain - Confusion - Helplessness

This unnamed boy looks out beyond the barbed wire, holding back his tears as he swallows down his sorrow and tears. With his river of thoughts wondering, absorbing and carefully burning the images of events that is happening to the place he calls home and to the people he loved, without prejudice, but with a tsunami of confusion.

Deep down in his heart, he does not understand what is going on because none of the atrocities committed in his environment, made any sense to him. It does not jive with the moral values that his mother has taught, and definitely did not resemble any religious values that his father has ingrained in him. He cannot make sense of it all, yet, never for one minute close his eyes, determined to understand, determined to get to the bottom of this suffering, because he knows. It is only up to him, because his predecessors has failed, because they did not identify the evil intentions of those in power until its too late.

Yet at this moment, he could not do anything but observe and swallow his pain, awaiting for his of liberation. On the inside, he is restructuring the meaning and value of life, and little does he know that he would repeat the mistakes of his abuser, little does he know that he would feel satisfied and whole to repeat the actions of his torturer.

Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love. - Martin Luther King
