More People Respected and Held Cryptocurrencies?
Do you think the states, or any governing body for that matter, would still retain the same power of the people that they do now? What if all of a sudden, some superior retail entity like Walmart decided that they would no longer accept USD and preferred HIVE? Would something like that bankrupt a nation? Some interesting speculation as we move into uncharted territories in reference to what money really is.

States still have the armies, the police — and on a good day — democratic legitimacy. All of that still matters, and will for a long time.

I think it could happen. I have a feeling states would move to issue their own crypto before declaring bankruptcy.
The 'war on cash' and push towards a cashless society started a couple decades ago. With the birth and surge of crypto, I think it will happen and like you said, I am under the impression most states (at least in the US) will have their own token. Some states may not recognize other state tokens and that's where the federal exchanges will thrive. If I was an entrepreneur of any kind...
