CTP Content - Diwali : Festival of Lights

in #ctp3 years ago

Hello All,

Hope you all are doing good and enjoying the life with your loved ones.

India is land of festivals and last few month of the year is the festival time in India. This is the time when there are back to back festivals and one of such festival and most famous on is Diwali - it’s also known as Festival of Lights.

This festival is celebrated in the memory of Lord Ram’s return to his home after 14 years along with his wife Sita and brother Laxman.

People were so happy that they lighten the earthen lanterns and decorated the entire city with these lanterns. Form that day on this festival is celebrated every year with same spirit. Every house in the entire country is decorated with lanterns or candles 🕯 (candles are more popular these days).

I with time there were some additions to the traditions and people started lighting crackers as well to celebrate 🎉. People make different sweets at home and exchange them with neighbours.

People worship goddess Laxmi ( goddess of wealth) at night. It’s believed that worshiping goddess Laxmi on this night bring wealth and prosperity.

I remember from my childhood when we used to wait for this festival. The preparations starts a few days before the festival day as people clean their houses, get rid of old stuff and paint their houses. Everything looks very new during these days.

We still celebrate the festival with same spirit.

This is it for today guys!!See you tomorrow with another post and another topic.

This is my day 28 of this challenge.
