Bendecido día queridos Hivers, deseo para ustedes una excelente y productiva semana. El día de hoy estoy muy contenta porque tuve la visita de los técnicos encargados de la instalación de servicio de internet en mi sector y me dieron la noticia de que pronto estará disponible el servicio por fibra óptica, lo que significa que dentro de poco ya podré dedicar mucho más tiempo a mi blog; así como también tendré la posibilidad de leer, apoyar y comentar más publicaciones.

Blessed day dear Hivers, I wish you an excellent and productive week. Today I am very happy because I had the visit of the technicians in charge of the installation of internet service in my area and they gave me the news that soon the service will be available by fiber optics, which means that soon I will be able to dedicate much more time to my blog; as well as I will have the possibility to read, support and comment more publications.

En esta publicación les quiero compartir mi experiencia del fin de semana. Como todos sabemos, ya estamos muy cerca de celebrar las fiestas decembrinas y en mi país los preparativos comienzan desde que inicia el mes de noviembre, lo que me parece un poquito exagerado, pero es una costumbre muy antigua y aún se mantiene.

Parte de los preparativos en mi localidad (Estado Monagas - Venezuela) incluyen adornar y decorar las principales calles, plazas y avenidas del centro de la ciudad.

In this post I want to share with you my experience of the weekend. As we all know, we are very close to celebrating the Christmas holidays and in my country the preparations start from the beginning of November, which seems a little exaggerated to me, but it is a very old custom and it is still maintained.

Part of the preparations in my town include decorating the main streets, squares and avenues in the center of the city.

Para dar inicio oficial a las celebraciones se tiene como costumbre realizar una fiesta de encendido de luces. Esta tradición tiene mucho tiempo, lo recuerdo desde que era una niña, cuando se solía realizar el encendido de la "Torre de PDVSA" lo que representaba el árbol de navidad de los monaguenses. Aunque ya esa Torre no existe, la tradición se ha mantenido y ahora se realiza un encendido de luces en las principales plazas de la ciudad.

To officially start the celebrations it is customary to have a lighting party. This tradition has been around for a long time, I remember it since I was a child, when the "PDVSA Tower", which represented the Christmas tree of Monaguenses, used to be lit. Although that tower no longer exists, the tradition has been maintained and now there is a lighting of lights in the main squares of the city.

El domingo en la noche mi esposo y yo decidimos llevar a nuestros hijos al encendido de luces en la plaza Romulo Gallegos, una de las plazas más grandes y concurridas en esta ciudad, para que recordaran un poco nuestras tradiciones y costumbres venezolanas para navidad. En el lugar había muchas decoraciones navideñas y por supuesto, había luces por todas partes. No podían faltar las gaitas y villansicos.

On Sunday night my husband and I decided to take our children to the lighting of lights in Romulo Gallegos square, one of the largest and most crowded squares in this city, to remind them a little of our Venezuelan traditions and customs for Christmas. In the place there were many Christmas decorations and of course, there were lights everywhere. The gaitas and villansicos could not be missing.

Algo que fue nuevo para mí, fue ver varios stands de comidas, postres y bebidas. También había algunos stands destinados a vender productos artesanales alusivos a la navidad, todo parecía una gran feria navideña; lo que me pareció genial. Lo que llamó más mi atención fue un horno artesanal para hornear pizzas en plena plaza, lo cual fue todo un éxito, ya que había muchas personas esperando para degustar las pizzas.

Something that was new to me, was to see several stands of food, desserts and drinks. There were also some stands selling handmade products allusive to Christmas, everything looked like a big Christmas fair, which I thought was great. What caught my attention was a handmade oven to bake pizzas in the middle of the square, which was a success, as there were many people waiting to taste the pizzas.

Debo decir que quedé gratamente sorprendida y me pude contagiar un poco de todo ese ánimo, la alegría y el espíritu navideño de las personas que asistieron al lugar. Una vez más pude constatar que la felicidad es cuestión de actitud y decisión. El pueblo venezolano es alegre y le gusta celebrar con entusiasmo, a pesar de las circunstancias y las adversidades. Me encantó mostrarle esta hermosa tradición a mis hijos y también fue un gusto compartirla con ustedes.

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised and I was able to catch a bit of all the spirit, joy and Christmas spirit of the people who attended the place. Once again I could see that happiness is a matter of attitude and decision. The Venezuelan people are cheerful and like to celebrate with enthusiasm, despite the circumstances and adversities. I loved showing this beautiful tradition to my children and it was also a pleasure to share it with you.

Que lindo se ve todo, me encanta la navidad. aquí tambien pusieron esa bambalina gigante para tomarse fotos. que bueno que ya estas disfrutando de la navidad en Venezuela.
