A Dash of Sult N Papper 05/22/20> Starting to sound like a guzbucking broken record… but someone has to do it.

We are heading...

We are heading into our Memorial Day weekend here in the USA and I just heard a news report the usurper that goes by the title and name of president tRump has done it yet again.

“Done what Sult?”, you ask. Great questions you folks ask, and I will be more than willing to tell you.

Memorial Day is...

Memorial Day is the last Monday in May and we have set aside that day here to honor service men who gave their lives fighting to defend our liberty and freedom. It’s not too much to ask that we keep that day special or at least in my opinion it is not; but tRump has gone about changing that this year.

According to the...

According to the noon time news report on the local AM radio station here in Houston tRump has ordered the American flags be flown at half staff from today until sundown on Memorial Day.

Normally the American flag would only be flown at half staff on Memorial Day only but according to the news report tRump has decide we need to honor the people who have lost their lives to this strain of flu that has been dubbed “COVID19” or “Corona Virus”.

Some of you...

Some of you might be thinking, “what’s the big deal Sult? He’s just trying to show some compassion.” I’ll tell you what ‘the big deal’ is; he doesn’t have the authority to do it.

Just like the governors and judges don’t have the authority to keep businesses shutdown and making people desperate by losing their jobs with this COVID19 crap; that’s big deal…lack of authority.

I've pointed this...

I’ve pointed this before in my Daily Dose and Dash columns before, there are a set of rules that specifically call out “when and what for” the American flag can be flown at half staff.

Not only when and what for but also for what duration of time to be even more specific; last time I checked there is no mention of COVID19 deaths as one of the reasons.

Each and every...

Each and every time the flag is ordered to be flown at half staff when it isn’t proper according to the Flag Code our nation’s integrity,( for lack of a better term), is eroded away in my eyes.

I’ve pointed out on numerous occasions how our government officials lie, cheat and steal from us and today now tRump is stealing from our dead service members, (who gave their lives defending what we hold to be important which is our liberty and freedom), he’s stealing the honor and respect those service members deserve.

Each time we...

Each time we let an elected official get away with something small we open the door for more bad things to be done in the future. This current COVID situation is a prime example of tyranny run amuck and most people sit scratching the heads wondering, “how can this happen?” I just showed you how; so wake up and smell the coffee.

The history of...

The history of this country and the government proves just how pathetic we’ve become as a “people”. The longer we allow the kind of behavior we tolerate from our elected officials these days just reinforces the fact that we’ve become a society that is not capable of ever taking back control of our destiny.

A brief look back at some serious mistakes:

 Gold and silver coin (real money) replaced by printed paper IOU’s know as Federal Reserve Notes.
 Federal Reserve Banking System, a privately owned system, controlling the nation’s wealth by theft every day.
 Banks that can create money out of “thin air” and then loan it to people and charge the people interest on the so called “money”.
 Government changing our system of law from ‘common law’ to codes and statutes.
 Surrendering our unalienable rights (God given) for “privileges’ offered by the government.
 Allowing the federal government to run (ruin) the education of our youngsters.

I look at...

I look at this brief list and I have to say the founding fathers of this nation would be ashamed of us for what we as a “collective society” over the years have become.

I won’t even go down the path of listing all the guzbucking wars this country was involved in. We’ve done more damage around the world than I care to mention in the so called “protecting our nation”; yet the biggest threat we face as a nation is the crooked politicians we continue to re-elect to the House and the Senate.

Detecting a little frustration in my tone? If so you are correct.

Less than ten...

Less than ten days ago I proved to you folks that not a single elected official has taken the proper oath of office to hold their “office”. We just have let them slide along year after year, decade after decade and now going on centuries pretty soon.

Come Monday when we should be honoring our dead soldiers... what we really should be doing is apologizing to them. They gave their lives doing what they was the right thing to do at the time and we have failed them by allowing these things on that list to happen.

I have said...

I have said these things time and time again, like a vinyl LP record with a big scratch keeps repeating the same lyrics. The tRump and the "half staff" is the fuse that set me off today because we fail to see how the little things add up over time.

Ya’ll enjoy the three day weekend here in the USA.

This will be the first Memorial Day weekend that the Indy 500 isn’t scheduled to be run in my lifetime; another American tradition trashed by the scam of politicians and the COVID 19 scare.

Until next time,
Sult

First: I remember when the Indianapolis 500 was run on the 30th of May. Memorial Day. The Coca Cola 600 and Monaco F1 were run on the Sunday nearest Memorial Day in May. Now all three are run on the holiday that used to be known as Memorial Day.

I still feel that Memorial Day is important enough that it should have a date, not a Monday for a 3 day weekend.

Flag protocol. We've discussed this before and you know that 'outside the box' just plain pisses me off. Big pisses me off.

I have half a dozen places in the neighborhood to stop and 'chat' after the tennants come back for the winter. They've left their American Flags up while they aren't here. All but one of them is tattered. Unexcusable. I'm sure I'll piss every one of them off, but when I'm done they will know their responsibilities whether they respond or not.

Just way too many people have paid way too great a price for anyone from a neighbor to the POTUS to be cavalier with it.

I'm going to stop by just agreeing with your list. Jeeze.

Enjoy your day off, and maybe take a few minutes on next Saturday to remember. I will.

I'm glad you mentioned that about the 30th of May as being Memorial Day in years past. Just another example of how we've taken a special day and turned it into the convenience of a three day weekend. Thanks for jogging the memory on that.
Flags. There are way to many that are flown for decoration purpose rather than for patriotism and to show support of the country. We have a national Veterans cemetery here in Houston that the scouts each year put a small flag on each grave for Memorial Day. I heard that it isn't being done this year either as a result of the COVID virus.
Just way too many people have paid way too great a price for anyone from a neighbor to the POTUS to be cavalier with it., very true words Tom. Those neighbors might have $15 to $20 invested in it and the POTUS doesn't have a dime. Makes me wonder just what the value of those lives lost was is those neighbors and POTUS eyes?
I will enjoy the day off but I also will take the time on the 30th as well to remember. Thanks.

Sometimes it seemed like you were just ranting but you have a?good sense of history. Sometimes things look small but have great significance.

🙏

Yes, a little ranting which is uncharacteristic for me. However you nailed it as well, Sometimes things look small but have great significance. and just with one sentence.
Thanks for reading and commenting @mineopoly , very much appreciated!

Happy Saturday to you! It's more important than ever for Americans to know their rights and the rules in which this country is supposed to operate under. If more people were aware of this kind of thing there would be more of a public outcry and maybe then real change would start to happen. At the very least people would make better decisions at their polling places and hold their elected officials accountable.

I don't know how I missed this reply, but you are absolutely correct about "supposed" to know. I'll continue to do my part, that is all I can do. Hope you had a good weekend.

We had a decent weekend. I hope you and yours did too! Thanks, Sult!
