Today is Saturday...
Today is Saturday and as I mentioned earlier this week I’m resurrecting some of my “old habits” from my days when I wrote the Daily Dose over on the other fork of this block chain I refer to as FIRED. I pretty much used Saturdays as my “housekeeping” day where I cleaned up any messes I might have caused earlier in the week and then also rewarded some readers. Today will be one of those Saturdays.
First I would...
First I would like to report that the TeamUp Poker Tournament is firmly in control of the Three Kings. I don’t discuss strategy with my team mates but I think we are all the same page when it comes to the “duck it” method when it comes to entering tournaments.
Today however I went ahead and entered the morning No Limit Omaha tournament because I need to work on my game. My poker skills at the NLO game are not that great so with a very few players I could pay more attention to the cards and work on sharpening up my game.
I didn’t finish in last place but damn near so more work is needed; the good news is that our team had two members playing and the second place team had only one, right now they are battling it out for win so there shouldn’t be much change in the points from a team perspective.
We have over...
We have over a 350 point lead in the team standings over the second place team and the homestretch of the tournament is coming soon. In all honesty I don’t believe there is a chance they could catch us and take over first place but I learned a long time ago that “it’s never over ‘til it’s over.”
We’ll have to wait until the “fat lady sings’ and then we’ll know for sure. Right about now she is tuning up her vocal chords, isn’t that right @blueeyes8960 ? I have to give old blueeyes credit though she did win that NLO tournament this morning, so congratulations are in order; congrats. Oh… I like old sayings and in no way am I implying that blueeyes is the “fat lady’… just wanted to be clear on that.
Now the individual...
Now the individual standings is a real horse race, with less than 8 points separating first and second place and third place is about sixty points back from second so this race could very well come down to the wire, maybe even a photo-finish.
I have a feeling that the individual standings means a lot more to the second and third place guys than it does to me so I’ll hang around as close to the top as long as I can and let the chips fall where they may.
Switching subjects...
Switching subjects; when I announced that I was resurrecting some old stuff that I used to do over on FIRED I intentionally made a couple mistakes in that Dash and one of those was promptly pointed out to me by @bethalea .
The mistake was the spelling of the word “grammar’; even I know the proper spelling of the word, now the rules of grammar is a whole different story when it comes to me.
I told @bethalea a little “white lie” and that the error wasn’t intentional so she wouldn’t be rewarded. She can check her wallet and she’ll find one HIVE transferred in there from me, it was done before I even replied to her, chances are she never even noticed but I just wanted to set the record straight.
The second error hasn’t been identified yet so someone might want to go proof read that Dash again.
I am concerned...
I’m a little concerned about bringing the “basic income’ program back to life over here because @thekittygirl pointed out to me that some person thinks it is some sort of “socialist program’ and is down-voting people who utilize it.
I’m not sure how they are doing this and don’t want to cause anyone to have their post earnings zapped by this person in the form of a down vote. I am wondering just how this person goes about what he is doing, is he just looking at wallet transfers to see who is enrolling / sponsoring folks? I guess he could be using Hiveblockexplorer too and just seeing transfers made that way. Yes, that makes more sense than randomly looking at wallets. I may just transfer HIVE to folks like I’ve done for errors.

Seeing that it is 12:15 PM right now and rain is in the forecast starting later today and all through the middle of the coming week I need to fire up the grill and cook some burgers. Burgers cooked over a wood burning fire are the absolute best and my stomach is growling so excuse while I tend to that.
Those burgers were good and juicy too. I don’t have many good things to say about our neighboring state to the east which is Louisiana but I will give them some credit every once in a blue moon, so check the moon.
The folks over there know how to make seasonings. I use a seasoning combination on my burgers that is made over there and sold under the brand name “Raggin’ Cajun” and that stuff is really good. I highly recommend it if you ever run across it in your grocery. I imagine you could find it on the internet but our local grocer carries it so I never have a reason to look online for it.
After the burger...
After the burger break I did have to play a game of poker, I guess my team mate isn’t on the same page as me when it comes to the “duck it” strategy cause his entry into the tournament made enough for the tourney to go on as scheduled.
I joined in late so I didn’t miss out on a few points opportunity. When it was all said and done, or when that fat lady sung, I won that small tournament and my team mate finished second so no real change in the standings to speak of.
The 3:00 tourney didn’t fly and so I can finish this up without any further interruptions that I anticipate.

Did ya’ll catch the latest on the news? I didn’t either; but I got this second hand from the wife and son who is tuned in to the propaganda we call news. I guess tRump left on Friday to make a trip to visit the occupied state of Michigan where some terrorist woman is holding the people hostage. That terrorist woman is the “so called’ governor of the state.
The word I got was that tRump said that churches are “essential’ and should be reopened before he boarded the helicopter at the White House to leave.
My wife is actually employed by our local church and there might be some underlying issues with churches reopening that have accepted government funds in all this COVID19 relief effort, at least which is the word that had been communicated to my wife from the church hierarchy. So it will be interesting to see just when our church will be back having Sunday services live and in person.

Speaking of the church, ya’ll remember when Blondie got confirmed into the church and the ordeal we had with that? I figured you did.
Well this year our youngest daughter, Shortie, is due to be confirmed. In fact, it already should have taken place but this COVID stuff and churches being “non essential” prevented that from taking place earlier this month as scheduled.
Things have been changed up though with the confirmation process, this year’s confirmation class wasn’t required to submit a paper on what the church means to them. So we won’t have to boycott the church this year while waiting for her paper to be returned. I wonder if Blondie’s paper the year before might have had something to do with that decision.

I'll have know my beard is doing fine with this COVID shutdown we've had, I haven't shaved or trimmed it in almost three months now. I've vowed not to do until I have to go back to seeing customers but even that might change since one of the owners of our firm saw me last week and he told me to keep it just the way it is.
Hard to believe we are just a few months shy of three years on here together. Man how things have changed, but I value each and every friendship I've made on here. The one with you especially because there was a time when your comments really pissed a few people off and I would tell those folks... he has the right to say what he thinks, no matter what. I am a big believer in that right and they couldn't understand how I didn't mute you.
Those same people I don't think are around now, at least I haven't seen them in quite some time, but you have been steady as a rock in support of my blog and I very much appreciate that.

So. Looks to me like Blondie paved the way for her younger sister in the confirmation business. That's the way it ought to be.
My brother would probably say that I paved the way for teachers and others in authority to take a really close look at him after I passed by :) Or maybe he just deserved all the attention. Who knows?
Michigan is in deep right now. A 500 year rain event in the north of the lower peninsula breached two dams which put our friend @bozz near to having waterfront property. The automakers are trying to re-open. That industry provides so much of the backbone or our manufacturing that it's just critical.
Then there's the President. When he screws up he needs to vent his spleen on somebody and it seems to me that the Michigan Governor has put herself in the barrel. I'm guessing it's a lot more talk than action at this point. Trump REALLY needs Michigan in November so there is a pretty narrow edge to walk right there for both of them.
In the Friday PM news dump is Hertz bankruptcy. 500,000 cars dumped into the used car market? Probably a really good time to buy used is coming right up. Volume down 40%, supply up 100%? Should be some really attractive deals come out of that.
At least there is good news on the Poker front. Good on you!

I didn't catch that Hertz bankruptcy announcement but I'm not surprised by it either. Give it some time though before you start used car shopping; surely there will be a government bailout program tailored for them. If not though it would be a buyers market for sure.
"Michigan is in deep right now." you say. They are "in deep" on many different levels not just the rain and flooding. I saw a news clip showing that while governor is demanding everyone stay at home and not travel her family packed up and went to their vacation home in a different part of the state. The elite have a different mindset when it comes to rules. It runs along the line of "we make the rules for YOU to follow, not us."
Reminds me of here in Texas where the state lawmakers have special privileges traveling to and from the state capital in Austin when the legislature is in session. One state representative from Houston got pulled over on I-10 for doing around 100 mph by the highway patrol and couldn't write the guy a ticket because he was on his way home from the legislative session.
The rep even went as far as saying the patrol officer needs to be more careful in who decides to stop, he should have seen my license plate, or something of that nature. That is how stupid and arrogant these law makers are; even a person with better than 20/20 vision couldn't read a license plate at 100 mph. The law maker isn't in the state legislature any longer, now he is the mayor of Houston. This explains why Houston is so guzbucked up right now.
You must have missed that Dash with the announcement of resurrecting my 'old habits' because I was fairly certain you would catch one of the two errors. (Hint; it is a typo error not a spelling one.)
