So, pertaining to the "scam & hack" post I made yesterday
First of all, I'd like to thank @tinabrezpike for the Hive she sent me yesterday, I appreciate it, thank you.
Thanks to @burlarj and @udezee yesterday for their massive help.
After a careful analysis of my wallet, we found out the wallet was not much into DEFI stuff so there was no way I clicked a phishing link.
I tried protecting my wallet from phishing by making sure I never interacted with any link, and I did a good job at it, unfortunately, there was a blind spot: my PC which had my main Gmail logged in.
In the past 24 hours a lot of people has mocked me, called me names, said I was careless, said I was useless, a dummy and many other names. Some has plainly ridiculed me and all sort of insults, but I take it that that's humanity.
Many are happy for your loss even though they don't know you before, they're just happy and can't wait to shit on you.
Turned out the hack was most likely from a malware installed on my computer. The guy on the other hand never knew my email had data, I on the other hand didn't know I could be compromised from my my data on Gmail. I've always had data there for over 10 years and it's been a life-saver for me.
Turns out scammers are getting better at what they do. I thought I had it right, I thought I protected myself well, it just felt like this guy has perfected the art of scamming,
I had faith in everything I did to protect myself, I thought it was enough and I felt short and now I lost the money I worked so hard for. Yesterday night I just get this big jolt anything I remember I'm starting over again.
I thought I figured out how to pay the bills, and how it just seems like it's all a dream. I pride myself as a careful person, I just can't believe the scammer was ahead of me in everything.
It feels too wrong to be compromised and violated the way I did, I just can't believe it happened to me, even if I move on, I can't forget how hard I worked and some stole my efforts and when I remember how hard I worked, and how easy I could have made my life by having disposable cash to pay the bills, it'll hurt even more.
Know how it feels to give time and effort to a romantic relationship, and the other person does not appreciate it. I can't stop thinking about the things I could have done rightly. Wonder how these scammers target wallets.
It just shows that people using wallet with keys are not safe anymore. There's a compromise in crypto because of the short comings of EVM and solana hot wallets and scammers have found a way to cheat people via it.
Think I'll be staying away from hot wallets for life, whenever I plan to save again (not like I even have any plans) I'll advise anyone too to stay away from them.
N matter how careful you are these guys are ahead. Saw a post of how one guy lost $60k worth of crypto in his hot wallet, despite having tight security measures put in place. So the best decision is to completely avoid evm and hot wallets. Abort that mission
I'll probably need a power down, this wasn't my plan, but unfortunately it's gotten to this
How will a normal reasonable human being be happy for your loss even though they don't know you or even know how you worked hard to get that thing that was stolen? Instead of such people to sympathize or help find a solution to that problem they are busy mocking you? What if they were in same shoe with you, how will they feel?
Really sorry about this bro. I know how far you have and sacrifices you have made to get to where you are now.
Inexperienced that on Twitter, I was asking the pros who understood what might have happened and what caused the hack, since I was very careful, only to realised that there are people I didn't know in the same comment section happy for the loss. Didn't know and haven't met any of these guys.
If it wasn't something about loss I wouldn't even mind, but I was very sad about it, some Nigerians are just straight out wicked with no form of human compassion, but then karma is real.
Twitter? Ahh, that platform is full of people with fake life and grievance...especially Nigerians; they show up to pour out their angers and frustration on others just to console themselves and also to get traffic. Even on Facebook, that's how majority of them behave.
Sorry bro.

Thank you!🤗
People 😕
Unethical Capitalsim and Centralization.
Annoying for the rest of us!
Yeah, very annoying!
So sorry to hear this. I caused a loss myself, by clicking on a link that was the scam. I would not trust Gmail for anything. I keep my photos there with the idea that I might lose them, but then i have a back up elsewhere.
But I have to say, please lets not condemn Nigerians as a whole. Yes there are Nigerian-originated scams but there are also other countries that manufacture scams as if from digital factory. I think there are documentaries available about this issue on Netflix.
As a woman, I can say our gender gets a lot of shit online, and you just have to think of them as people who scream out of their own pain. A person who has everything well in his life, does not need to oppress /bully or talk down others.

It's better to remember a tragic moment in our lives as an experience rather than a worst incident occured to us. Hope you will quickly get back where you were before.
A bad experience is a bad experience, no reducing the impact
You are right, one can not fully feel the pain and thoughts of others and what they are going through.
Don’t think too much my man, Good days are coming, based on belief…🫂
I hope so, it's not looking good at all
Really, really really sad about the situation n the losses you faced.
N the worst part after facing all the damage by the hacker is
Imv, the ones who mocked u or were happy on your loss are jealous of ur account/personality n thou should totally ignore them. Really pray from my heart that you get even more than you lost....
The people I spoke about are on Twitter and not Hive.
Who the hell on earth can be happy that you got scammed?
Did you install something strange or opened weird sites? You better either format or put a really good antivirus
You will get back your stake even if you power down, you can still earn here
A lot of people actually are, it's come as a surprise to know that there are less people who are actually empathetic and lacks compassion. I guess we can only truly know them when we experience misfortunes in life. I was sad but there's nothing I could do.
Sorry to hear about all this. Obviously this is the worst possible time to sell Hive. Any chance of getting a loan from a relative, friend or a bank?
No. I don't really have a lot of friends. I've been mostly working nonstop last year to pay the bills. The job stopped because the person I worked with was being toxic.
Now I lost the funds I earned.
I don't even want to understand why people make fun of someone if this happens 😒. And then the same thing happens to them... and now what? I mean... I can't even find the words anymore. This can happen to anyone... and instead of supporting them, people choose to mock instead. Because then their life feels better if someone else is struggling...stay strong…and fuck others…
Yeah, it can happen to anyone, but the people laughing actually feels they'll do better if it was them and they'll never lose. I made sure I never got into any argument with them, I just let them have fun and said whatever they wanted, I was just too drained and sad to even reply back their mockery
Oh yes, I thought so too, and then they scammed me. Didn't do any better than everyone else who was also scammed in the past. There's no point in replying to such people. They just want to feel good if someone is suffering.
It's well. I'm glad you're putting yourself together, and forging ahead, though it won't be easy. I just hope that whoever that mocked you won't find themselves in your situation.
Thank you, I guess that's life.
I am sorry to hear about that. I agree that hot wallets are way riskier. I guess it would be better to store on a cold wallet, but if you can't then an exchange seems like a decent choice.
Yes, exchange now seems to be the safest options at the moment. Who would have thought a day would come where I'd prefer CEXs
it's well ... just brace yourself, good days are still comings
Hoping/praying for Hive to go up whilst you power down.
Gmail is not safe Try Protonmail ( Swiss secure email ) I have been using their services for many years.
Thank you, but since it's electronic mail is it still not likely to experience the same issues as Gmail?
You can't compare the two.
Everything G**gle related is basically spying on you and profiting from your data. Protonmail is encrypted. Do some research and see if you like it.
Okay, I understand. I haven't actually heard of it, that's why I was asking if they were the same.
I get it. They are pretty well known, especially in Europe. Perhaps not worldwide.
You welcome bro.
Sometimes we can't be too careful in this life, situation like this is just one of those terrible days when the unexpected happens to those who are very careful in life.
But I believe you will bounce back from this set back and recover all that was lost. It is well with you. Sorry about the loss.
Thanks a lot man. Thanks for yesterday. In reality I was just shocked that something like that can happen despite how careful I was, and if you didn't walk me through, I would even understand at first. Although I was already doing a few research and discovered that there were people who actually took multiple safety measures and yet one hacker still got them.
These guys are just getting smarter.
So sorry 😔@josediccus
🙏🙏
First of all sorry for your loss bro. Do you mean keeping wallet credentials in Gmail resulted in the hack ?
Not really advisable, that's what means.
Yes, sadly it looks like it's dangerous to do so.
