What is DEGEN & What Can it Do?
The new DEGEN token is the official token of the Hive-Roller.com site. Soon users on the site will have a plethora of uses, ways to earn as well as spend it integrated in the upcoming update releases on the site. In the near future users with DEGEN will be able to deposit and withdraw the tokens on the site like any other supported currency, tip it to other users on site, place wagers with it, invest in the bankroll with it, purchase special perks and cosmetic upgrades to their account not to mention buy and sell it on Hive-Engine.com at their leisure with prices specified by the free market.
While a definitive list of the use cases of the DEGEN token isn't yet available right out of the gate on the upcoming update to Hive-Roller.com v0.8.0 users will be able to bet and invest with DEGEN meaning that earnings from this and future airdrops can be grown exponentially if you're the type to let it ride on the dice or more of the conservative type who enjoys investing with the house edge in your favour. When the planned daily leaderboards are integrated into the website users who achieve high rankings will also receive DEGEN as part of their prize. Other use cases and ways to earn DEGEN such as the implementation of a daily Hive Keychain login bonus as well as other exciting gamification methods are planned for the future.
As far as the future price of the DEGEN token a percentage of the earnings the Hive-Roller.com site makes on it's commission and fees will be used to create buy walls on the Hive-Engine.com DEGEN market as well as ensuring there is always an ability to sell your DEGEN tokens if you find yourself needing to do so. As development progresses and new versions of the site are released to public the list of things that DEGEN can be spent on as well as the ways to earn DEGEN will grow.
Currently the circulating supply of DEGEN is 1,010,110 tokens with 1,000,000 of those being held by the Hive-Roller.com account to only be used to reward users of the site in the future and 100 DEGEN being held by me personally to do development and testing and 10 DEGEN being held by one of my moderators on site. The DEGEN I personally hold will not be included as valid in the airdrop. The remaining 10000 DEGEN tokens are the ones available for purchase at the price of 0.1 HIVE per a unit, these 10000 are the ones that will make holders eligible for this airdrop.
How to Receive the DEGEN Token Airdrop

The DEGEN token airdrop starts today with the initial amount of DEGEN offered at the 0.1 HIVE price point limited to 10,000 units. If this initial sale of DEGEN sells out you will not be able to purchase any unless you manage to find someone willing to sell to you OTC until the second round of airdrops.
The second round of airdrops will be lower yield per a DEGEN held due to the price of the token increasing with each round. The amount of DEGEN available to purchase to become eligible will always be 10,000 units but the price per a unit will increase with each round.
The first (and largest yield) airdrop event will trigger on October 1st, 2020 and at that time all accounts holding DEGEN token balances will be issued an addition 100x of what their holdings are paid to them in DEGEN tokens. So for each DEGEN you purchase and hold from the initial 10000 tokens offered in the first round you'll recieve an airdrop of 100 additional airdropped DEGEN.
A note of how much is airdropped to each DEGEN holder will be taken and that amount plus the initial holdings which earned that amount will be deducted from future rounds of airdrops meaning that if you wish to be part of these airdrops you may enroll in multiple rounds simply by purchasing DEGEN each round and holding the token within the time period which the airdrop is happening.
On the off chance that the initial 10000 DEGEN tokens are not entirely sold off by the October 1st 2020 airdrop date any remainder will be burnt by sending them to the @null account.

On top of of the large yield of the airdrop being offered for each round with 1 DEGEN bought during the round having 100 DEGEN given in the drop in the future you'll be able to earn them by using the Hive-Roller.com site. The ability to outright buy and sell DEGEN tokens for various other currencies on site will also be explored in the future to avoid needless transfers and waiting time to cash out or buy into the token itself. As for what version of the upcoming updates of the site these features make their way into is up for speculation right now. It very likely won't be the upcoming v0.8.0 update but a subsequent one in the future. Lots of awesome sought after functionality is on the development roadmap for Hive-Roller.com and with that said I need to get back to coding in an effort to get the next update ready for a launch hopefully some time around the October 6th 2020 Hardfork 24 date.

Yeah man! DEGEN will be supported not only with investing and betting but also will be able to be spent on the site in various ways. The whole point of these airdrops is to get a decent chunk of DEGEN out into the communities hands in preparation for the upcoming update.
Doing multiple rounds of airdrops and at the end of the rounds I'll be taking users stats from the site and applying an equation to them and dropping DEGEN according to metrics such as HIVE wagered, number of bets, profit/loss, highest win and lose plus a few more investor orientated metrics. Should be a hell of a good time!

No need to stake them! Just make sure they are in your account on October first and you'll get 1300 DEGEN airdropped onto you. Currently working on writing my own smart contract to handle this.

Lasse while I applaud your little community for what it is.. However my site and token are no where near a bad investment.. The only down side to the whole thing is when people go full tilt and lose a bunch of cash.. I hate that shit. All in all the site has hosted around 69,000,000 bets so far and had over 4,500,000 HIVE volume run through it. All the other HIVE casino style games combined aren't anywhere close to what I've built and continue to improve upon. The airdrop is just a distribution method for those who don't want to use the site to earn them. Eventually though the site will be the only place they are distributed through investing and wagering.
