Mit dem Übergang zu Proof of Stake sinkt der Energieverbrauch des ETH-Netzwerks auf nahezu Null. Ethereum-Entwickler Carl Beekhuizen zufolge fällt der Energieverbrauch durch die Umstellung um 99,95 Prozent.
Zudem führt die Beseitigung von Umweltbedenken bei einer Investition in ETH dazu, dass insbesondere Großanleger, die beispielsweise ESG-Mandate einhalten müssen, erneut bedenkenlos in Ether investieren dürfen.
