a vacant old canteen at the train station of neustadt an der weinstraße, converted by the art club project [51] into an place for art and culture. a place where people used to cook and spit has been transformed by a lot of work into a space of creative freedom. the building, which used to belong to the railroad, was bought by the city of neustadt an der weinstraße and is now at the disposal of art until its demolition. an exciting place, a creative oasis of contemplation in the midst of everyday hustle and bustle and rushing trains. in the building you can find works of art on two floors, but also the passing trains with their graffiti can be viewed from here and invite you to a pause.
from 16th of July until the 25th of July 2021, a wide variety of artists will present their diverse thoughts, ideas, confrontations and works in the fields of art, performance, film, music and literature. for all art lovers from or next to the palatinate or vacationers, a visit is absolutely recommended. due to the numerous different artists and positions, art for every taste can be found.
a list of the participating artists and the program taking place can be found on the website of the exhibition QuellWasserTransport. the brot&kunst verlag will also be represented there on two evenings. besides Florian Arleth and the other creative cumpants [Katharina Dück](https://www.brotundkunst. com/katharina-dueck) and Jack Savant, käpt'n kalle is also happy to be part of one of the "QuellWasserTransport 2021 - Part I" evenings. on the last evening, 25.07.2021, he will present his "logbook of an artist" to an audience for the first time. admission is free (as on all other evenings).
topics that will be addressed are: the public space, freedom and vanitas (transience). three aspects that can be found in the artistic work and the book.
those who can't be there will find a broadcast of the event on the open channel and later a recording of the reading with discussion and interview on the internet.
in addition to the presentation of the book, works by the artist can be viewed in and outside of kantine 16 throughout the entire duration of the event QuellWasserTransport.
since käpt'n kalle always forces people to look at his art in public space without warning, this event should offer the possibility of a dialogue between the people present and the artist. art is not a one-way street. an artist who only speaks and whose audience has to obey silently is a dictator who dictates his view and conception of the world. dialogue and communication are an important part of artistic action and artistic creation, at least that's how käpt'n kalle understands his art. especially the public space is a wonderful area for communication. what brings people further is cross-fertilization, exchange and the taking up and further development of ideas and thoughts.
so everyone is invited to attend on 25th July 2021 at 17.00 o´clock in kantine 16 at gleis 1 at bahnhof neustadt weinstraße. (and of course on all other evenings)
eine leerstehende alte kantine am bahnhof von neustadt an der weinstraße, umfunktioniert vom verein projekt [51] zu einem kunst und kulturlabor. ein ort an dem einst gekocht und gespeißt wurde, hat sich durch viel arbeit zu einem raum der kreativen freiheit verwandelt. das gebäude, welches einst der bahn gehörte, wurde von der stadt neustadt an der weinstraße gekauft und steht nun bis zu seinem abriss der kunst zur verfügung. ein spannender ort, eine kreative oase der besinnung inmitten der alltäglichen hast und vorbeirauschender züge. so lassen sich in dem gebäude über zwei etagen kunstwerke finden aber auch die vorbeifahrenden züge mit ihren graffiti lassen sich von hier aus betrachten und laden zum verweilen ein.
verschiedenste künstler präsentieren vom 16.07 bis zum 25.07.2021 ihre mannigfaltigen gedanken, ideen, auseinandersetzungen und werke im bereich kunst, performance, film, musik und literatur. für alle kunstinteressierten aus der pfalz oder urlauber ist ein besuch absolut empfehlenswert. auf grund der zahrleichen verschiedenen künstler und positionen findet sich kunst für jeden geschmack.
eine liste der teilnehmenden künstler und dem stattfinden programm findet sich auf der internetseite der ausstellung QuellWasserTransport. auch der brot&kunst verlag wird dort an zwei abenden vertreten sein. neben Florian Arleth und den weiteren kreativen kumpanen Katharina Dück und Jack Savant freut sich auch käpt´n kalle an einem der "QuellWasserTransport 2021 - Teil I"- abende dabei sein zu dürfen. am letzten abend, dem 25.07.2021 wird er sein "logbuch eines künstlers" erstmals einem publikum vorstellen. der eintritt ist frei (wie an allen anderen abenden auch).
themen die angesprochen werden sind: der öffentliche raum, freiheit und vergänglichkeit. drei aspekte die sich im künstlerischen schaffen und dem buch wiederfinden lassen.
wer nicht vor ort dabei sein kann findet eine übertragung der veranstaltung auf dem offenen kanal und später auch eine aufzeichnung der lesung mit gespräch und interview im internet.
neben der vorstellung des buches können über den ganzen zeitraum der veranstaltung QuellWasserTransport werke des künstlers in und außerhalb der kantine 16 betrachtet werden.
da käpt´n kalle immer wieder den menschen ohne vorwarnung zwingt, seine kunst im öffentlichen raum betrachten zu müssen, soll bei dieser veranstaltung die möglichkeit eines dialogs zwischen anwesenden und künstler bestehen. kunst ist keine einbahnstraße. ein künstler der nur spricht und dessen publikum schweigend zu gehorchen hat, ist ein diktator, welcher seine sicht sowie vorstellung der welt diktiert. dialog und kommunikation sind wichtiger bestandteil künstlerischer handlungen und künstlerischen schaffens, so begreift zumindest käpt´n kalle seine kunst. gerade der öffentliche raum stellt eine wunderbare fläche zur kommunikation dar. was den menschen weiter bringt ist gegenseitige befruchtung, austausch und das aufgreifen sowie die weiterentwicklung von ideen und gedanken.
somit ist jeder herzlich eingeladen am 25.07.2021 ab 17.00 in der kantine 16 am gleis 1 des bahnhof neustadt weinstraße der veranstaltung beizuwohnen. (und natürlich an allen anderen abenden)
It seems to be an cool exhibition with the presence of the artists. It's always interesting to hear artists talk about their work, usually we don't see the same thing 😀. But it's Art... like Marcel Duchamp said Art belongs to the viewer.
And for the building, I like the fact you can watch the trains and see the graffiti on it. 👍
