It's been a week now since my last post, there is a lot going on right now, the next chapter of our journey has started!

I wrote in other posts, that we were about to drive to the South of Greece to stay there during the winter, because we don't have a heating system in our van.

Well, now we decided to stay in Bulgaria, because Greece wouldn't let us in without us making a Covi-Test ^^

But, we don't mind at all, because shortly after we made this decision, we found the perfect place for us to stay during the winter.

We signed up on Workaway, and found this great house-sitting opportunity! A great homestead in a really remote valley in the Balkan Mountains.

The owner of the farm is still around for a few more weeks, showing us, how things work around the house.
So now we spend our days learning how to chop wood, clean the sawdust toilets, fire the kitchen stove and all the things that make a life off-grid so interesting :-)

We want to harvest all the food that's left in the garden and on the fruit trees to preserve as much as possible. Also we collect some wild herbs growing around the area, like nettles and mint.

There is not much left of the garden veggies, so we will still have to do a big shopping tour in the nearest town, and a visit at the local market.
There is the opportunity to do a 30 minutes walk to the little shop in the little village nearby for the basic supplies, but we try to avoid having to do this too often.

Yeah, we try to prepare ourselves as best as we can in quite a short time, it's like a crash course in homesteading ^^
But this place is exactly what we wanted and had hoped for for a long while!
I'm really very happy to be here and I'm looking forward to spend the winter at the most cosy place I've ever been :-)
