"Jungle Moon" - Paradise Home Stay on Bang Saray Mountainside

Jungle Moon is a must see spot and resort project by a Thai/Holland couple, Tommy and Hans - The goal was to transform this piece of land over on the mountain side of Bang Saray. They created a luxury resort property with a true rustic 'Isaan' (Thai country) feel. Luxury and top notch quality on the inside, yet with a traditional appearance on the outside. Yesterday I finally made it after many invitations, to check it out. Here's what we saw on a very pleasant Sunday afternoon spent with friends, with photos to show off the vision achieved.

What is Jungle Moon?

Jungle Moon is a very unique resort, where you can stay overnight or several nights as a 'homestay'. Or you can just pop in for the cafe, reasonably priced Thai food, (delicious dishes from 150--200thb). and go take selfies all over the sprawling garden grounds - it's all ok!

Somewhere in a sweet spot of a homestay and luxury resort, (with public cafe/restaurant), from independents, with no corporate brand behind, unpretentious and with huge personality. What's not to like? Yet the hosts although humble with it, are clearly very experienced in hospitality and know how it's done. This isn't your typical - it sits in a special niche, middle ground, completely - in a good way. You might just come for a coffee and smoothie and enjoy the environment for an hour or two, but be careful - you might end up with some great new friends in the hosts, and staying longer than planned!!!! Without sounding too much like a lazy TripAdvisor review: Unbeatable, just check it out.

Escape the Norms

As touched upon, do spend time to chat to the hosts, they're happy you came, they're humble, and want to tell you all about what they built. As a brand new business, they are more than happy for people to come and spread the word. Don't be shy even if you're just wanting a look around.

Great Spot for ... A bit of work and concentration? Yep!

What also struck me as quite cool is you can just order a drink and maybe some food, then sit anywhere within the vast grounds - alone and in peace if desired. There are so many little private and completely tranquil nooks and crannies all over the place, you can find your own. It was designed that way - to have lots of spaces where you pick depending on your mood or how social/antisocial you want it! Total privacy or socialize, it's up to you, and there is room for all to be kept happy.

A paradise ... with Wifi and power for laptops, nomads rejoice!

It got me thinking that it's a perfect spot to just to sit and work on the laptop for a few hours. There are no interruptions and the spot is so quiet and peaceful, in natures surrounds. A total bliss for the weary nomad, even just to stop for an hour and have a smoothie/coffee. Here in Bang Saray, it's hard to find - nothing against other places, however they often have someone pop up that knows me and wants to chit chat - when I'm just trying to work. Now if I want to go somewhere out of my house, and be alone to work, this is could be my new 'go to'.

It's really like some hidden jungle paradise village from some angles ...

Well that's more than enough going on about it - Let's go through some photos. We're going to have to return and follow up with more pictures of this place! There is far too much to pack into one article such as this.

There is so much going on with the walkways, spaces, platforms, bridges, ponds, it could take a while to take it all in

View across to the front of the property, there is so much packed inside yet somehow they've structured and laid everything out just right. It's not the first time, Hans and Tommy have built a few homes like it and then ended up deciding to sell and make another.

NewtonClassics will be back to take more photos of the luxury accommodation available, plus we missed to take a photo of the swimming pools. There's even more to see, that we didn't slot in on this occassion.

One of the private dinner rooms available, or just a place to retreat if the skies are opening. There are a few function rooms throughout in similar style, all are unique. None have any bland feel of a corporate hotel or resort chain, it's all very personally styled by the owners.

Another outdoor function area, you can be away from everyone and have your own little private party.

This room was more like a living room and VIP area, the hosts might invite you to imbibe in a drink and to take in the views ...

A huge pond, around it, guest accommodation rooms, on the left, a spacious restaurant/dining area. Hard to fathom it was just built a year ago, yet looks very naturalized already.

There are decorations everywhere, these Thai crafted sculptures placed in strategic positions add to the atmosphere.

Another shot of the bridge, this time from the coffee shop.

As above, looking out from the property at the sunset in the fields and wild land behind. There is a steel structure with hammock string and cushions, you can lay there suspended above the river if you want to ...

They even built a Thai temple in Buddha style at the corner, very stylish and adding a true flavor of Thailand to the atmosphere. Note the deckchairs, endless spots to escape the maddening crowd.

It of course has the ultimate 'penthouse' villa on the property also, seen here.

Did I mention they have a few pets? They bought out a baby goat which sat with me and was very cool! They have another piece of land out back where a few animals are raised.

You can visit anytime for the coffee shop and smoothies, no need to book a room.

Man-made lake fed by the river, but filtered and managed so mosquitoes are not a possibility.

Bridge across the river which runs through the property. A flowing river doesn't attract mosquitoes, they don't like moving water. Other trees on the property are natural repellents - and were preserved for this purpose. There aren't any mosquitoes as a result.

Restaurant / Dining area, undercover, in wonderful style and decadence

Wrap Up

Jungle Moon is quite mind blowing. Despite all the photos, we still aren't 20% done showing all the details around the property. Hans the architect and visionary told me it's not his first, he's built quite a few over the years. Each one, each time, to be the last dream home he's going to make ... and then some compulsion takes over, he sells, and does another. Track record of building 30 properties like this over the years! What has been created here is joining the 'must see' place of the area - stay for the night or just for a coffee, but whatever you do, go check it out. Most importantly, one visit to Jungle Moon will lower your blood pressure, it's the most relaxing place imaginable.

We will come back to Jungle Moon, and expect more photos to show you even more of this incredible property soon.
