In Which We Finally Go Back

"For the first time in forever!...Finally they're opening up the gates!"

Last week, we went to California and entered Disneyland for the first time in a year and a half.

Yes, it was magical.

Disneyland only recently reopened after being closed for a year during the Covid pandemic. With all the hassle they currently have to deal with, it definitely made for a more unique experience, but the employees were doing their best and I think they're doing great given the less-than-ideal circumstances.

The lines to get in were definitely pretty crazy, but a lot of that just had to do with the new social distancing rules that are currently in place. The rides ended up with lines of about half an hour on average -- an hour for the big rides like Space Mountain or Radiator Springs Racers -- BUT a lot of that had to do with the fact that rides are operating at no more than half capacity, some even less than that. So, dividing each ride's wait time in half, the lines would only have been at most a half an hour for those major popular attractions, were they operating at full capacity.

So, honestly, not hugely crowded.

And it really was nice to finally see that beautiful and classic Sleeping Beauty Castle once again.
