In many parts of the world people live under and experience four seasons. This is not true in every part of the world.
People living near the equator, principally experience two seasons: the dry and the monsoon seasons.
Those living at the poles experience winter and summer as the chief seasons. Besides during certain time of the year they also experience the sun 24 hours a day, meaning during this time there will be constant daylight and the sun neither rises nor sets. This is when you can experience the midnight sun as the sun will be up even at midnight. For someone who has lived in the temperate or tropical climate all his/her life, such an experience can be very different.
