Sejak hengkang ke Barcelona pada bursa transfer Januari 2018 nasib Philippe Countinho terombang-ambing. Dia tidak mendapatkan tempat lagi di skuad klub asal Catalan tersebut sehingga dia dipinjamkan ke klub Bundesliga Bayern Munchen awal musim 2019/2020 silam. Namun sejauh ini Bayern Munchen tidak berniat mempermanenkan status pemain berpaspor Brasil tersebut.
Barcelona pun tidak ingin rugi sia-sia oleh karena itu El Barca berniat ingin menjual eks Liverpool tersebut pada bursa transfer musim panas mendatang. Sebelumnya Barcelona sempat menawarkan Coutinho ke mantan klub nya Liverpool, namun tim asal Merseyside tersebut tidak lagi tertarik memulangkan mantan pemainnya tersebut.
Kabar teranyar Barca menawarkan Coutinho ke Juventus, untuk memuluskan transfer dikabarkan Barcelona juga akan mendiskon harga pemainnya tersebut menjadi di sekitaran harga 77 juta euro.
