Real Madrid kembali menuai hasil buruk kala bertandang ke markas Levante pada lanjutan La Liga matchday ke-25. Los Blancos takhluk dengan skor tipis 1 : 0. Hasil buruk tersebut membuat posisi mereka di tangga klasemen digusur oleh rival abadi mereka, Barcelona. Setelah pada pertandingan lain El Barca menang telak atas Eibar dengan 5 : 0.

Dengan kekalahan tersebut, sang pelatih Zinedine Zidane merasa sangat kesal dengan performa anak asuhnya. Meskipun Benzema dkk memiliki penguasaan bola yang dominan, akan tetapi tidak mampu memanfaatkan peluang untuk mencuri poin.
