Our store had great traffic this past weekend. Loved seeing how many people came out even with our state doing it's best to scare people into staying home. The malls were dead, but our little small business did great. Honestly hope after all of this people keep supporting local small businesses and leave the mega store to die off.

Everyone Shop your local small businesses and support your neighbors. Yes many times you can find the items cheaper, but seriously who cares. Keep the money local, keep the sales tax local, and support your local economy. Your local stores foot a massive part of the costs of the schools your kids go to, the streets you drive on and so forth. You need them!

Get a day off today...then will find out how December will go when we reopen on Monday. This time of year is critical to our success. Wish me luck!

One of the best reasons to keep the local store verse big store is variety of choice, I have seen small stores disappear, because big stores undercut the small guy. Where we used to have several options for pet supplies we are now limited when the petco moved in and sold everything cheaper. Now people can go and get really cheep things at a price that went up and matches the few other small variety of pet foods and products. No more made in America or Mexico ceramic food bowls, no more nice feeling leather leashes, just nylon rope things from china.

I am glad your community recognizes the importance of community owned business.

Besides the care in quality with smaller stores there is the fact that you are out there supporting your neighbors vs making billionaires even richer. Amazon does not need anyone as a customer. A small business really does need each and every one of it's customers.

Those who are concerned with saving a dollar or two here and there can't then complain about how it used to be nice to go into stores, or about how horrible anything is at walmart or with amazon, nor are they allowed to complain about the job market. These are all issues that are caused by those "thrifty" shoppers who are to stupid to understand how their decisions impact their local economy.
