Ecolalia is a problem in which children or people in general, repeat words, sentences and phrases as a result of a question or when anything is mentioned; Children, knowing that they have to give a verbal response, simply repeat what they have heard, but this is without giving a congruent answer, to which they are being asked exactly.
Many times people suffering from this disorder can completely say the sentences and / or phrases, otherwise simply repeat the last word.
Usually, the disorder called ecolalia occurs because people have:

They don't understand the instructions.
They don't understand what other people mean exactly.
How can ecolalia be improved?
The educator and / or representative must:
Identify the receptive linguistic level, that is, the level of understanding in which the child or person suffers from the disorder.
It is important to start by giving small instructions until you notice that ecolalia is manifesting.
Sample instructions to determine your understanding:
You give me the apple.
You give me the horse.
You give me the book.
If therefore the child responds and executes properly, it means that this type of instruction understands them.
It is important to include a slightly broader level, where sequential sentences or instructions are included, such as:
- Pass me the apple and the cambur.
With this we will determine if the child or the elderly person executes the actions in the correct way; It means that the first instructions are our base and, therefore, the whole process depends on it, to make everything more complex, in terms of instructions and sentences.
The necessary measures and techniques must be taken to work where the child no longer has the correct understanding.
Importance of vocabulary to work with ecolalia disorder
It is important that the child knows the vocabulary with which he will work, it cannot be with vocabularies that the child does not know because, therefore, he will not understand anything. It is necessary to make sure that all the vocabulary that is being worked on is that which the child and / or the adult possesses.
As educators, they must be sure that the child and / or adult possesses the vocabulary within their own lexicon. The first thing to do is teach them what things are called, so they understand that the word they are told has a meaning to which it can be associated.
