Isaac Newton was born in 165q and grew up on a farm. He invented many things like a windmill, waterclock and sundial, but he did not always get good marks in school.

Do research on these different inventions of his.

When he was done with school he went to Cambridge University and wanted to study more on Astronomy and Maths and Physics.

Unfortunately the 'Great Plague' was spreading through Europe and the university had to close and Isaac had to return to the farm.

This did not keep Isaac from doing what he loved - he kept on experimenting with stuff and building things.

One day when he was outside, he saw an apple drop from a tree and he started wondering why that happens. He wondered why things fall down and not up. This is how he discovered the theory of gravity.

Watch the video explaining what gravity is.

Gravity is an invisible force which pulls objects towards
the Earth and keeps the planets moving around the Sun

One of the things he loved was light and he also discovered that white light is actually made up of different colours of light.

Do research and find out which colours make up white light.

He also used reflecting mirrors to make a telescope. What is a telescope used for?

Isaac Newton was a very well known and respected Scientist and he became very rich from all his inventions, but he also had a very bad temper.

Watch the video on the life of Isaac Newton.

ever lived.
