ENGRAVE - first complete blogging platform built on top of Hive network

in #engrave5 years ago (edited)

Motivation

There is quite a lot of generic Hive frontends with varied pros and cons. But we all know how difficult Hive network is and how much effort it requires to start that kind of adventure. Power users know much about Hive and all blockchain-related topics but there is a reason why Steemit removed most advanced blockchain mechanisms from their most used and popular frontend. There is no beneficiaries option here. And it’s not a coincidence that voting slider is disabled for newcomers. There’s just too much knowledge needed to use Hive network as a normal social media or blogging platform.

Why and how should everyone adapt to Hive and its complexity? Well, we think… they shouldn’t. It’s the task for Hive to adapt to its users with different skills and backgrounds. Otherwise, it won’t be sustainable in the matter of growth and its economy.

Hive ecosystem needs people who are in love with writing good quality articles. And there are a lot of bloggers that are doing this totally for free. There are over 440 million blogs on the Internet and most of them have never earned a penny. And bloggers are still doing this! Isn’t that just incredible? They do it because they love to do it. Those are the people that Hive not only wants but really need. Those people want to create their own brand and trademarks with their own appearance. They must use their own domains to create their own place in the global Internet network. And not that long time ago, in Poland, one of the biggest blogging platforms completely deleted all blogs with entire content built in years. Why not use blockchain principles to store blogs forever?

And here we are with ENGRAVE - first, complete, native blogging platform build on top of Hive network. We decided to follow totally different approach just to enable bloggers to focus on the content and to let Hive network acquire new, valuable authors.

Each Hive user is now able to create their own blog with custom domain and appearance in just few clicks.

Create your own blog

We did our best to simplify the onboarding process for new users as much as possible. Creating a new blog takes only a few seconds and it requires passing only base information like blog title or address. Technical knowledge is not required from the beginning to the end. ENGRAVE is user targeted, combining simplicity and user experience along with possibilities.

If you already have Hive account just log in using Hivesigner and follow simple and fast configurator. If not... just contact us or wait some time for the release of our next milestone!

Subdomain

Having a subdomain will be the best and most desirable option for most users. Your blog will be accessible at an address in our domain. If you want to create a blog about your beloved animal, you should try something like mybestfriend.engrave.website. Or maybe you want to write about space technology, so you decide to run finalfrontier.engrave.website. Or maybe you just want to create your personal blog with your username in the address? Everything is possible and you can use it if it's free.

Custom domain

If you want to create a professional looking blog and your own domain, it's very easy to do it with ENGRAVE. Your blog will be accessible on your desired address right after your DNS will propagate. You just need to point it to ENGRAVE server and we will handle everything for you. There are some example blogs running on custom domains like: momolovelock.com or steem-hikers.pl

Order a domain with HIVE or HBD

ENGRAVE is the first platform where you can use your HIVE or SBD tokens for ordering new, custom domains. Everything you need to do is to accept transfer (via safe Hivesigner) and wait up to a minute to see everything settled up automatically.

Domains are ordered for one year and renewal price may vary in time and between TLDs. More details will be available at ENGRAVE main page.

Themes system

Anyone who ever tried to build a website knows how important it is to attract user's attention. We all know that appearance is probably the most important factor when we visit blog or website for the first time. The author can be a great creator, but if the blog looks bad, we probably won’t visit it again.

That is why we decided to create Themes system with the ability to quickly change or customize a template for average blogger.

Your blog theme can be changed anytime with a single click. Right now you can choose from three powerful templates, but we're already preparing more of them to satisfy every user, regardless of his content's subject.

Moreover, we're working on something very special related to themes, which can be exciting for every blogger, but you will read about it in our next post. Just make sure you follow @engrave account to be notified.

Security

It's necessary for the entire network to maintain security issues. Lots of users don't care about spreading their keys everywhere. We've put a lot of effort into things that are maybe not that visible but definitely required. During ENGRAVE development we took care of the most important things so you don't need to worry.

- SSL

Every blog, regardless of whether it's in subdomain or custom domain, have it's own SSL certificate. It ensures that all information transferred between your browser and our server or blockchain are safe. Certificates are regenerated every 90 days to ensure safety.

- Hivesigner

We don't want to have an access to your keys. Any of it. That's why we decided to completely integrate with Hivesigner - the secure way to log in and use third-party applications like ENGRAVE. Just everytime you log in, make sure you're doing it at official hivesigner.com domain with a green lock on your browser's address bar.

Technically, we're receiving a token which we use to authenticate you and interact with blockchain. Thanks to Hivesigner principles, if something wrong happens with your account you can always revoke every token, cutting off the access to your account and stay safe.

Interactivity

Blogs are nothing without their readers. Thanks to fully integrated Hivesigner everyone Hive account is able to log in on every blog and interact with it in any possible way. Users can vote and comment on your articles directly from your blog.

Remember that sharing your personal blog links builds awareness of Hive among readers. There is information for every logged-out user.

In the near future we plan to expand logging options to allow people from outside of Hive network to comment and vote articles.

For Hivians and beyond

We've created ENGRAVE in a way to be useful for both Hivians and bloggers outside of Hive network. Having a blogging background helps us to understand every user needs. I personally love to write about technology and my followers are here to read that. But sometimes I just want to tell people about my pet or describe any other personal story. Using the same account. ENGRAVE allows me to differentiate my content along with several categories, so readers don't need to bother about anything not interesting for them. In the near future, we will add the possibility to create even more than a single blog. You will be able to create themed blogs to differentiate your content easily!

We want to offer features for both people on Hive and newcomers.

Key advantages

  • Categories

Categorize your blog articles easily with categories. It's the best way to differentiate your technical articles from stories. Build your blog in a way you want it.

  • Blog settings and features

There are so many things that bloggers want to set on their own. We tried to give authors as many features as possible without making it too difficult to use. You can select images, favicon, appearance and more.

  • Web push notifications

Let your readers stay in touch with you and configure integration with Web Push Notification service. If you setup it, every time a new user visits your website he will receive an ask to follow your blog. He doesn't have to provide any information and will receive notification right in his browser.

  • Analytics and data

It's your blog and we understand that you want to gather data about your readers. How many users visit it, how many links of your website can be found on the Internet, etc. ENGRAVE allows you to simply connect your Analytics account to your blog, just copy-paste your ID and it's done.

Interested in numbers above? Just make sure you don't miss our next post!

  • Drafts

There is no good blogging platform without drafts mechanism. On ENGRAVE you are able to write an article and save it for future use. In the coming weeks, we will introduce Posts Scheduler and you will be able to post your article at any moment automatically.

  • Integrated wallet

We want ENGRAVE to be everything you need to use Hive. It even has an integrated wallet. Right now you are able only to Claim your rewards but in future, you will be able to make transfers, manipulate your savings and all that staff that Hive blockchain offers.

  • SEO

It's important to be visible on the web, especially for bloggers trying to build their own trademark based on their blog. We developed SEO powered themes with additional data like Microformats and OpenGraph just to make sure your website will reach a higher position in search results.

  • Editing content

It doesn't matter how old your post is - you are able to edit it at any moment. And ENGRAVE supports powerful but easy Markdown syntax.

  • Autosaving

Ever wrote a great, long article and closed your web browser by mistake? That is not a problem using ENGRAVE, because we have autosaving enabled running by default. If you visit us again, your beloved article will still be there.

Just to be clear, we mentioned just the most important features. There are a lot of possibilities which mentioning would take too much time and space. And there is more to come in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for our next posts!

It's live and available at www.engrave.website

We are a witness

Together with some guys taking care about Hive network, we decided to join our forces and we created Wise Team. You can visit our website and find out all about us.

Read our first post: Introduction of New Witness: @wise-team

If you find our work helpful for the entire community, please consider voting on us as a witness. We will do our best to support the entire ecosystem with not only the ideas but with working applications, projects and solutions as we already delivered it in the past.

Open source

We all know that Hive is strong because of it's community. So we decided to open source all project developed by @wise-team. ENGRAVE is not the exception from that rule so its source code is available at Github.

@nicniezgrublem/@bgornicki really appreciate the work you have done here. Great choice with the name and vision. Steem allows people to publish stories / text into a blockchain that cant be altered or deleted. Prior to today there was the printing press and then engravings on walls in caves. But books can be burned and walls can be altered/destroyed. Who knows how much history has been lost or changed due to this. For ages humans have been "engraving things" to keep records. Steem is the future and the human race will have a tool to communicate freely. This is the first time I feel like we have a true competitor for Medium on its way.

Thank you for your support and comment, I really appreciate it :)

Once upon a time, we've considered potential project names with @noisy and he pointed out exactly the same example :) Especially when we've got information from polish biggest blogging platform... They decided to close the project and most of the bloggers lost their work created in years. And it was our best conclusion - blockchain allows you to engrave your article almost forever. And due to fact that @engrave project is open-source, you can be sure that your articles and entire blog is safe. If something goes wrong with our project, you will be able to host it on your own without the need to restore the content. It will be there, ready to serve directly to readers.

This is the first time I feel like we have a true competitor for Medium on its way.

I think this is the only way to reach more valuable bloggers as they have needs to create own place in the global Internet network. But writers don't have to have technical skills to install CMS like Wordpress etc and we tried to reach them with @engrave. I hope it will work ;)

Your 100% right. Blockchain is easily the future and no surprise this drop as it has done it 6 times before and the space fundamentally was not ready yet. HOWEVER if steem gets a legit blogging platform and competitor such as Engrave it will be a front runner in the next bull run.

Very cool and a welcome addition to the Steem UI options.
What is your platform? Did you build it all, is it WordPress or are you using frames?

It is a native Steem blogging platform. It's not a Wordpress and not a generic frontend like Steemit/Busy. We decided to develop it from scratch to provide full integration with SteemConnect and to allow bloggers to customize their blogs easily.

Technically speaking we developed a simple frontend to handle single user blog with additional options like categories, custom template, domain handling, etc and then we wrapped it into a platform. We're using server-side rendering with own Theme System so that we are not dependent on any other Steem frontend. This gives a huge number of possibilities which are not available using a wordpress plugin or something. I believe that native usage for Steem blockchain is much better than using it only for storing content as a copy.

Steem blockchain has a lot of great mechanisms that are quite too complicated for average blogger but they give great power when used in a proper way. We tried to simplify steem-based blogging experience with additional functionalities that utilize Steem blockchain. And we're going to publish additional informations soon :)

Thank you. We've added wise-team to our witness votes and look forward to more from you guys. This is really a nice package. Great job.

We've added wise-team to our witness votes

Thank you! :)

and look forward to more from you guys.

In next couple of days we are going to also finally announce release of our:

  • Wise Protocol - 2nd-Layer Voting Protocol For Steem!
  • Wise Hub and first Wise client :)

With Wise Steemians can delegate single votes to other people, based on own custom rules, like for example:

We Wise is needed?

If anyone is interested how it looks live, check https://steem-hikers.pl
:)

Good job @nicniezgrublem, you finally delivered!

Well done guys, this is the exact kind of thing I've been writing about that we need. Looking forward to checking it out! 😎

We had a presentation during SteemFest about Wise & Engrave ... and a host of an event which introduced us to the public, while we were busy giving a talk, he give a great example, that it is possible to setup an Engrave blog via phone in just 2 minutes:

:)

It's great to hear that we meet the needs of bloggers :)

Ay!
I have heard many times with the ENGRAVE project, even registered with my Steem accounts. Unfortunately, I did not go deep into this project. Fortunately, finally the project saw the daylight!
I wish you all the successes of the project and the whole team @wise-team, keep it up :)

I am an early adopter and I got to say this is an amazing concept and works really well already. I hope to see many more features but this is something that is super helpful to me as I don't want to create a Wordpress blog - and believe me, I have done it often enough and understand the WordPress system very well. However, I am looking for simplicity and Engraved offers that out-of-the-box.

Sounds like you also like getting fucked...

We're preparing a self-hosted version (will be announced soon) so If you want to cover your domain and hosting costs by yourself it will be available soon. ENGRAVE is just for people that just don't want to care about it.

I'm part of a @wise-team witness - check out what we do for Steem community!

And why is that? I'm genuinely curious (both about engrave and about why you say that).\n\nI personally want to try that out myself but if you have any information that will change my mind, I'm all ears.

Really beautiful. So amazing. Considering that I will pay with 15% for each post on that platform Engrave... Does it support ads?

Themes customization will be available soon and it is up to you if you decide to add ads or not ;)

Sounds good. Excelente! 😎

Very awesome new project to enrich Steem's ecosystem. Good job!

It looks like there's no content in the site yet, get more content!

on which site? :)

very impressive, this is an amazing platform, I think this is worth a try ... thank you for inviting us to create a blog that can be seen and appreciated by everyone ... this is a new platform and I will decide to join with others ... allow me to resteemed,, @engrave

I am in love with your project. I certainly would love to create a blog for myself. The problem is that I know, we don't earn much from writing, even if we right long ass detailed blog post about something. Can you try to get some delegation and make this project even better by making some kind of sustainable income model for bloggers on Steemians.

On Steemit, whales are not playing their part. If we want to earn good amount of money, we need to use "Steemhunt" or "Utopian" like platforms while they are great at what they are meant for, that is not "blogging". I want to see a platform that focuses on rewarding bloggers. I have so much in mind that I want to execute but at the end, I just think to myself "is it worth it to spend that much time?".

Getting delegation and rewarding bloggers will really make me do somethings that I have been pushing away for a long time. Take care @engrave

"is it worth it to spend that much time?".

Exactly same thinking here. That's why switching over to @dlike , @share2steem, @actifit like dapp. At least getting a few cents without much efforts

I just created myself a blog on here and will be posting on it soon. The website looks great. This was a pleasant surprise.

Super awesome!!!

BTW, @andrejcibik just posted in separate post files with our Engrave brochures, which we give away to all attendees of SteemFest³:

You can check them out and read them from file in big resolution here :)

It is very good.
I wanna category.
Can I insert google ad to a blog based on your platform ?

I have a question.
Can I edit posts that I wrote seven days ago?
Because the steam library supports it, I think it is possible. And this is important to the blog system.

I'm concerned with that 15% commission you guy's have decided upon. We creators are already paying 25% of steemit rewards to 'curators'...so, posting through @engrave would cost us 45% in total?

You certainly 'deserve' some form of compensation for your services, but 45% loss from rewards is too much for me to reconcile; especially since I use my blog predominantly for charitable causes. (paying it forward)

I'll be going to your site and perhaps sign up, but not sure I can handle the loss of revenue for my efforts. (I'd need to 'boost' a voting base by at least 15%, perhaps 'more') just to break even. Because even if we got a boost in vote value by 15%...we'd still loose 25% of that.

Best wishes to you. Have a happy day.

We creators are already paying 25% of steemit rewards to 'curators'.

Content producers receive rewards because "curators" allocate a portion of the rewards pool to them, not the other way around. The way you have expressed your ideas seem to imply that "creators" somehow give away income to the Steem Power holders (the people that actually give monetary value to the currency). It's exactly the opposite.

I might be incorrect but I think that the 15% beneficiary portion of the rewards applies only to the "author" portion of the payout. So 15% of 75% is equal to 11.25% of the total payout. The content producers end up with 63.75% of the total. If I am incorrect then the payout for the creators would be 60% (100 - 25 - 15 = 60).

Either way I think 15% is a fair amount considering the type of service that is being provided. Even more if you consider the fact that bloggers don't have to pay a cent to setup their blog.

Content producers receive rewards because "curators" allocate a portion of the rewards pool to them, not the other way around. The way you have expressed your ideas seem to imply that "creators" somehow give away income to the Steem Power holders (the people that actually give monetary value to the currency). It's exactly the opposite

Without 'content creators' posting their work on steemit, how would nodes/blocks be produced? Isn't that in a sense the 'birth/creation' of steem for the reward pool? (pow?)

The steem blockchain/front end projects, seem to be the equivalent of a business plan, raw materials, equipment, production set-up and space, administrators, support services etc. that a 'standard' business provides in order to begin producing a product? The 'workers' are the ones who 'produce' the end product in a typical capitalist enterprise. The 'content creators' here on steemit, are in a sense, a part of the labor pool.

Of course 'anyone' contributing 'work' by 'any' means here on steemit be it tech. support, sales, marketing etc....are 'workers' and deserve a 'fair' share of the rewards/profits brought into the pool.

Your math is correct as formulated into the selected equation. My 'addition' of 5% to the 40% loss of ultimate reward, was simply an attempt to cover the additional fees a content creator may loose through 'conversion' and 'transfer' (e.g. Blocktrades fees) and the 'dust' votes which are swiped clean at the time of payout (votes worth at or under .002)

I should have stipulated what the addition of 5% loss indicated previously, so I understand your not taking that factor into consideration with your response.

Anyway...my comment was 'not' an assault on 'engrave'
; merely a critique according to how I perceive it. (you might have noticed that, I wished them 'well') at the end of my comment?

Either way I think 15% is a fair amount considering the type of service that is being provided. Even more if you consider the fact that bloggers don't have to pay a cent to setup their blog.

You are certainly entitled to your own opinion regarding what you think is 'fair' or not...but, most members/users/creators here on steemit seem to be dismayed already with the value of their work 'not' being what they had hoped for in relationship to their time 'spent' participating. It is a major reason for our loss of past contributors...

I don't comment in an effort to begin a personal debate or 'lengthy' dialog; that is not how I choose to spend my 'time' which I place a 'value' upon....but, I am comfortable with your input/opinions.

Should you choose to continue this conversation, I prefer 'others' to join in who may understand the math and inner workings a bit better than you or I do. Engagement can be helpful for the blockchain.

I may choose to create a post of my own regarding 'engrave' to solicit opinions and assessments, free of my 'own' thoughts, and of course...exercising our right to 'Free Speech'

Regards to you @onthewayout . Have a healthy and happy day.

Without 'content creators' posting their work on steemit, how would nodes/blocks be produced? Isn't that in a sense the 'birth/creation' of steem for the reward pool? (pow?)

Blocks would still be produced even if no content were to be published. Content producers are not essential for the blockchain to function (technically speaking). However without them the distribution of the currency would be very limited.

Consider the exposure, the push notifications, and how isolated steemit is from the mass population of the internet. Social media is expected to add 10 million users by 2020. Shockingly, look at my 'bank holdings' at
http://www.evolvedmoney.xyz and steem showed up with the majority of income produced. It all might be small now, but I remember when bitcoin was a fraction of a penny, then less than a dime, it'll never reach a quarter, no way it will be worth $1. Listen to the podcasts linked on EvolvedMoney.xyz and everyone could be wrong, bitcoin could crash to zero, but ten years out, I feel wealthy already.

I think that I have 'considered' all of what you mentioned @coothingssite ...and that does 'not' change my assessment/critique...of which, was not an assault nor an attack on 'engrave', steemit, steem or sbd...

Actually, what sparked the comment was one by @berniesanders to be honest with you. He may have been crass with his remark, but he 'chooses' to voice his opinions in whatever way 'he' chooses, which is his 'right' to do so; if you 'value' Free Speech like 'I' and many others do...I give Bernie 'credit' for not bending to the whims of NWO's brainwashed and dumbed-down puppets/pawns.

You are free and entitled to voice your opinion @coolthingssite ; except for places like China, Britain, Germany and some others, which have taken away that right from you...and a 'growing' trend in the world these days.

Thanks for the blockchain, and thank 'you' for commenting (freely)

Have a peaceful day. Cheers

P.S. I would have up-voted you, but I see that you 'already' self-voted your 'own' comment...

Steemit is a mysterious mansion, I don't hardly understand powering up, resource credits or knew that upvoting your own comment was bad form. I am all ears on how everything works and what is the best way(quality content, I got that much!) to earn some steem 'money'. I guess I should be happy with $4.9M I found in my wallet this morning but until I take it out of the ATM it just doesn't seem real to me.

The screenshot......now it is PRICELESS and I'm looking forward to all those that ask me what a bitcoin is and what mining is, well, I'll think of something. Speaking of which, I've looked and searched, and found nothing yet, is there a good way somebody with an average computer can do some CPU mining and generate some steem?

I don't hardly understand powering up, resource credits or knew that upvoting your own comment was bad form.

I'm sure that most would agree with giving new people a break here for acting in a manner that they might not agree with; so don't sweat it too much @coolthingssite .

Some steemians frown upon self-voting in comments, some frown upon self-votes on any post, but it is 'allowed' according to the rules of stinc. So, you are free to choose what path you want.

My sarcastic remark about not voting you 'up' was mostly due to 'you' not having the courtesy to cast a small up-vote for the comment you were responding too...yet, cast one for yourself...(appears selfish) ???

Anyway, your suggesting what to consider in a potentially positive light about this new (paid for) service, was already taken into consideration by me. My thoughts/opinion remain unchanged.

Some may feel it's beneficial for them, others may not...it's very simple.

Have a wonderful day.

This looks awesome!

Yeah! This is pretty huge.. like galactic! Very well done and thanks to @aldentan for hipping me to the project. Massive mover right here.. watching with happy face! 🤑

GALACTIC, that's an adjective I don't see used often, but it sounds fun!

Kinda like those wallet values today lmao! 😂

looks exciting - I am not a blogger but I like the simple approach your offering

Guys, this looks really frickin cool! Any way to point my existing domains to use your service? Maybe have a how-to good for his old men around here?

Sure, you just need to add or edit two records for your domain and that's all ;) Please contact us on our discord (https://discord.gg/8NktdFh) or steem.chat :)

Great information and project. Thanks for sharing, I look forward to trying this out.

It should take you only a few seconds to configure your own blog :) Just try it :)

This is the main reason why i join steemit, keep the good work.

hello,
very interesting bloging system. thx.

Wow, great project you've been thinking about. Now "create blog" is also on my To-Do list ^^

Dapps are always welcome

So exciting to see new projects based on steem blockchain coming up everyday. Wish you all the best from my heart!!!! Will go check your website...

Very Slick, I'll have to try it out!

All of our published articles in the steem blockchain will appear in our blog? or we can chose which one to be shown in the blog?

Will every published new post using other interface (steempeak, busy etc) will automatically appear in our blog?

The post published from our blog will be visible from other blockchain interface mentioned above?

Will there be option to add third party advertisement or monetization in our blog?

All of our published articles in the steem blockchain will appear in our blog? or we can chose which one to be shown in the blog?

Will every published new post using other interface (steempeak, busy etc) will automatically appear in our blog?

Every post added via Engrave will be visible on every other frontend like Steemit/Busy. But on your blog, there will only appear articles posted by Engrave so you can differentiate your blog content. And you are able to categorize articles and select which one you want to display or not.

In the near future, we're going to add the possibility to create more than one blog for every user and it will allow you create themed blogs (like let's say one about animals and other about technology).

The post published from our blog will be visible from other blockchain interface mentioned above?

Yes, they are normal Steem articles and there is no mechanism to prevent other frontends from displaying it.

Will there be option to add third party advertisement or monetization in our blog?

You will be able to customize your theme and it will be up to you if you decide to use external advertisment or not ;) Consider it as an ordinary blog (but fully integrated with Steem) where you can do whatevery you want.

I'm part of a @wise-team witness - check out what we do for Steem community!

Thanks for the reply to the point. But is there a 15% beneficiary rewards? If yes, isn't it too high?

Posted using Partiko Android

15% of something vs 0% of nothing. You can use a subdomain and the search engine benefits, but for me, the push notification for readers alone make it worth it. Im going to start a blog, even though I already have a wordpress blog. One important question, it can be difficult to show all posts ever on wordpress, does Engrave do this easily? Also, is the search engine going to discover and crawl all the blogs on the platform?

One important question, it can be difficult to show all posts ever on wordpress, does Engrave do this easily? Also, is the search engine going to discover and crawl all the blogs on the platform?

I'm not sure what do you mean in the first question but there is a sitemap for every blog which can be used by crawler engines for indexing entire blog content.

Is that a sitemap.xml file? What would be the URL for my blog? The only hiccup I've noticed this morning is that my one post doesn't show up at my blog URL but does still appear to exist in my dashboard. I'd like to submit my blog's sitemap to some search engines and ping some sites that give backlinks.

But is there a 15% beneficiary rewards? If yes, isn't it too high?

Maybe it is. We're at a very early stage and trying to find the best solution for everyone. Our infrastructure cost is high and we need to cover the development cost. We would love to lower it a bit or maybe completely change our business model to subscription or one-time payment. Just give us a time to adjust everything.

There are a lot of features that are unavailable any other Steem frontend and that's the cost for using them. And due to open source, you are able to cover all that costs by yourself. You just need time, skills and funds to do it ;)

I think its a great project and well worth the 15%, because it empowers people to at least be able to have a blog directed to a personal domain. I'm intending on moving a few people's websites over to it. But I have a suggestion...

What about a "delegation membership"? I've been thinking I might want to create something sort of like Kindle Unlimited subscription services but the membership "fee" is something like a 10 SP delegation requirement for reader accounts and 25 SP for author accounts.

Then a bot could be used to upvote authors when readers visit a page. This way, you're kind of paying authors for page views, and on top of that they could benefit from upvotes and the platform actually gains 25% of the value.

Of course, I realize this concept would not mesh well with the "not-yet-steemians" on-boarding strategy, which is a wonderful aspect of Engrave that benefits the health and growth of Steem.

So happy that we connected during Steemfest. Thank you so much for the presentation and the answering all of our questions. Travelfeed will be in touch soon.

Great, we are looking forward to cooperate :)

It's great that it's open source too. I also like the sleek design :)

Interesting! Good luck out there

Thank you :)

Great info and lot of informative that can use as supplementary materials in crypto investment

Seems to be a great move guys! Congrats and waiting to try this... cheers for the evolution!

This is like a new Medium competitor but using the Steem blockchain as the backend CMS? Sounds ducking great! Speaking of competing the Medium, please make sure the UI is as pleasing to view as one if not surpassing it. I have had enough of Steemit terrible layout, Busy is a little better but not on par with Medium yet.

Do you guys have a marketing and growth plan?

Wow, this is cool! For someone new like me, I think this will work as a really good introduction tool to help me get used to the community while keeping a foot in the stuff I already know!

I'll definitely give it a try, I'm excited in sharing my passions and thoughts with everyone, thank you!

Can we earn steem on engrave??

Ppl will probably be able to upvote your content just like you can in any other Steem-based content website.

It reposts to steemit so I expect there will be upvote and resteem on posts at Engrave. I can't wait to get over there and start my own blog. I'm going to use a subdomain something.engrave.website and then make a subdomain on a domain I already use for my blog and point it there. The Engrave website looks very pretty, hopefully it will have a good search engine and directory functions. I especially like the fact that posts and blogs will have microformats and opengraph - much of the internet and search engines have ignored this stuff but in the future they will be used more and more, especially when AIs and robots are 'learning' from the internet. Machine to machine computing and communication is only going to increase. Look at how much the world has changed in the last ten years. I plan to live ten more years!

Finally! I've been waiting for this kind of platform to be built. Thank you.

Good luck
