Top entertainment firm Atari is joining forces with The Sandbox (TSB) on the up and coming voxel-based blockchain form of its well known gaming and content platform.
In a declaration on March 27, blockchain startup Animoca Brands hinted that the joint effort will include making 3D voxel versions of famous Atari game properties including Asteroids, Centipede, Pong and RollerCoaster Tycoon.
In its blockchain emphasis, in view of Ethereum, The Sandbox will offer clients three new features unique to Ethereum dApps.
An apparatus for building non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and in-game voxel resources
A commercial center for exchanging these benefits
A game making tool for users to develop, share and generate revenue from making games.
The terms and conditions of the deal states that, Atari will receive a large digital "Estates" within Sandbox's gaming infrastructure. These domains are rare, advanced spaces where gamers will be able to use 3D voxelized versions of Atari games.
Estates can be gathered from groupings of LAND tokens, which can likewise be bought by clients to fill in as areas for developing and deploying gaming content.
166,464 LANDs will be made accessible in The Sandbox, alongside in-game virtual resources and SAND tokens.
