Greetings Pilots and Hive Citizens!
We are in that awkwardly long period between Toms Tuesday's and Rekatron Friday's, but at least we have some amazing and new additions to the eXode Alpha Booster packs! This informative post should try and help to tie you over until your next contract supply drop.
Let us begin!
Right away for today, we have a shiny new legendary card. The “Velvet Storm” has already taken our Discord Server by storm, and now we are excited to share it with you here.
This card is a prefab which means for the cost of one cargo slot in your ship’s hold, you can take this legendary racer with you on Evacuation and ultimately on to colonization. The Velvet Storm features many nice details such as a cargo slot herself, missiles for a quick hit and run, and the really handy attribute of orbital capacity. With orbital capacity, you have the ability to quickly shoot up to orbit (make a delivery, pick something up, etc) and return back to the surface. This is the racer for our Special Agent Origin. Having her along with in the vehicle will add stealth and signals to the racer.
Let's have a look at another racer, which happens to be an epic card. The Achean Racer is another prefabrication that will offer you some speed to get around in a hurry. Her cargo slot and 2 crew capability will allow high-value goods and personnel quick transportation. Armed with miniguns, you are offered some defense but speed is the main attraction with this racer.
With the Achean Racer we are also introduced to a new minor faction, The Achean Gang. Achea is a planet notorious for its criminal activity; specifically, it's organized crimes and it's gangs. Acheans have specialized equipment and are a random background that can be assigned to any character in eXode. That means if a character is assigned an Achean background, they will receive a small bonus for using Achean items; such as the racer, gear, or weapons.
Security on any colony is important, especially if you are working with the secret agent or Achean Gangs. But as you already know, space is a dangerous place and in eXode you want to be sure to protect your colonies. The prefabricated AA/AT Automatic Turret can help you rest easy at night by providing a defensive installation on your colony. It covers tanks and air, is upgradable, and has a robotic feature.
And lastly for today we have some mobile defense to offer you. This Security Drone can be sent on a security patrol or be assigned to a guard a specific location. Imagine packing the Security Drone along with on an away mission with a racer, or sending it to guard a point of interest until you can secure the location with re-enforcements. The utility of the drone is endless and the fact that it’s upgradable, gives it an even greater value.

Can you land on a planet in Colonization that in close to Achea? And maybe trade with them using the Velvet Storm?
During Evacuation you basically jump to the other side of the Galaxy. So while you might encounter other Humans that did a similar jump before not much is known about that area of space. So no, Achaea will be far away... but maybe some people from Achea made it out as well ;- ) ?
You're right. Achea will probably face a similar fate to earth.
