Cultivation of Jobito.

  • It multiplies through the seeds.

  • The selected seeds must be healthy (free of pests and diseases), and are washed to remove residues.

  • This crop does not resist high temperatures. If in the area where you live it is not cold, the Jobito should be planted in the sun or semi-shade.

  • It is recommended to plant this plant at a distance of 5 to 6 meters from houses, pipes and any construction.

  • It requires a fertile soil, slightly acidic (pH of 6) and with good drainage.

  • The seeds can be sown directly in the soil, in individual containers or growth beds, in seedbeds and pots.

  • Add soil to a pot (10.5 cm in diameter), place a maximum of two seeds and cover with a thin layer of soil.

  • This plants does not resist drought, so watering should be frequent. At the hottest time of the year, water every two days. Ideally, water it with rainwater or without salt. If we don't have any, we should add half a lemon or a few drops of vinegar in a liter of water.

  • It is recommended to fertilize these plants with organic fertilizer during the flowering and fruiting period, such as: guano, chicken manure, eggshells and bananas, tea bags, expired vegetables, wood ash.

  • The harvest is done manually during the rainy season when they show their yellow color.
