One more post related to the Finnish Independence Day celebrations because I forgot to show you my outfit!

I had a mini meltdown the night before because ”I hAve nOThinG to WeAr!1” but after ripping out half of my closet to the bedroom floor and giving a fashion show to the man, I did manage to find something suitable. My first choise was a black knit dress but it was too dramatic and didn’t go with these heels I wanted to wear. I also needed the outfit to be comfortable enough to be able to do the kitchen duties in.

I’m a jeans and a t-shirt gal at heart so I finally settled on an elevated look based on the everyday classic; a simple cream silk top and white super wide leg jeans and of course a pair of very festive heels. For a part of the evening I also had on my most worn knit, a simple grey cashmere sweater.

White and blue outfit was more than appropriate to host a dinner in celebration of 105-year-old Finland. Blue is for the lakes and white for the snow.

I thought ahead and did my makeup well in advance and curled my hair. I was going to wear red lipstick also but of course the guests arrived early and all I had time for in the end was to brush out my curls in 10 seconds and just hope for the best. It turned out fine enough.

I would have also liked a good photo of myself but only managed to snap a mirror selfie while in the kitchen wearing an apron, and another at midnight before going to wash off the day and get to bed.

How’d you like my look?

How do I answer that without sounding like a thirsty internet creeper? LOL!

Your attire is plenty classy for any party I'd want to attend. I am a jeans-and-t-shirt kind of guy myself, but work requires a slightly more professional look. Thrift stores are my go-to when I need to upgrade my wardrobe. You'd probably want to add a cardigan if you wanted a more librarian-level look. Oh, and more of a scowl to scare the bejesus out of noisy kids.

Is there actually a dress code for librarians?

This is all I can do on a short notice, but I did work in a library for one summer. Those rowdy teenagers will be whispering ”Sorry miss” in no time.

Our dress code is not too extreme. I think the general term is "business casual." I can even get away with blue jeans if they are not faded. I know the ladies are told not to wear sleeveless shirts though.

That outfit looks nice on you @eveuncovered.
I think the apron is really cool and actually compliments the outfit quite aesthetically.
Can't help but to notice how happy your pothos vine is, you care for it well.

Thank you!

Haha don’t judge a plant by one leaf, all my pothos are strugglinggg. I should repot them and cut down the old withering vines.

I saw the vine in your other post too, it's a monster :D

My my what big eyes you have!

I try to keep them open lol.

Repotting is not a bad idea with the size of your vine.

The pothos also roots quite easily from clippings and makes great gifts to give to others.

They're relatively easy to care for if I do say so myself.

I'm not sure what I should do with this one going down towards the mantel.

Let it grow let it grow let it grow!

They are definitely on the easier side of plants and quite satisfying as they grow so fast. Two of the pothos had vines around 5-7metres before I moved them north with me. I like plants but I can’t be bothered to care for them much, I just always hope they acclimate to my environment 😝

Love it. Especially the shoes.😀

Shoes make an outfit, always 😁

Those certainly do
