Its my pleasure to partake with your nice contest round 35 of #SMAP Show Me A Photo Contest in Feathered Friends Community. This round theme is about 'THE TAIL'. I had shot this pretty peacock movement photos from the zoo of my travelling.
The peacock is one of the most beautiful birds that people easily find in the zoo. The male’s colorful and very large tail feathers have won the animal admiration the whole world. Peacock tail contains spectacular beauty because of the large feathers, bright, iridescent colors and intricate patterns. The colors in the tail feathers are produced by an optical effect called thin-film interference. Because of their heavy form, this family of birds is not known for flying far but often has powerful legs for fast running. Though peacocks do not get along with many other birds, they are social with each other. It is typically only older peacocks that stay by themselves. Peacocks likes to sleep in tall trees which is called roosting and to protect themselves from other birds. We see that some birds like the peacock have very large tail-coverts for its decorative purposes. So Have a nice day to enjoy with feathered friends for all.
I had shot another couple dove birds photos in the zoo. These are small, stocky birds belonging to the pigeon family and are known for their low and soft cooing. They are adaptable birds and can fit in wherever they can find food. These birds tail are short in size.
