Fly Fishing Season started

Finally spring is here and the fly fishing season just started. So of course, we had to go out to start the new season at our home River. It was quite sunny and not raining the last week so we had a good day at nice clear Water. Join me on my latest fishing trip!

We head to our nearest fly fishing Water located in Hessen, Germany. The river Sinn is flowing here through small Villages, huge Fields and Forests. We start our day where the River leaves a small Village. You can still find several Constructions from older Times here. This nice old Bridge.

Or some old Machinery to load and unload Wood which was transported on the River back in the days.

The Winter took his tribute and left the Landscape quite different from what i remembered from last Summer. Many tall Trees have fallen.

While having a little Breakfast, we discovered this little Alien. It is a Stone Fly Nymph. They are one of the favorite dishes of Trouts.

If you interested, here a quick overview of our Setup. Our Roots are made of Bamboo which is really performing well! We have both Battnkill Rolls from Orvis. Mine (left) is the Battenkill 3, it is super smooth and light. The Technic is simple and very Quality for the price!

On things i love about being in nature is that you just need to sit down for a few moments and you will discover something cool. Like this two Falcons sitting on top of a Tree

We try to sneak to the Water and try to hide, to not scare the fish away. They can see you surprisingly good through the Water.

It was so nice to go out again and being in the nature. Especially after this horrible Covid Winter!
Even though we only catch one fish it was a good day.
Have a look at our catch.

This poor bugger was unfortunately full with leaches. This happens often at this time of the year because the fishes spend more time on the Ground where the Leaches wait. Usually the will let go after a while and the Fish will survive without big harm. But it doesn't look appetizing.

@mrf83 Yes we have some pretty beautiful untouched nature out here! If you ever visit Canada you can definitely try some ice fishing it's quite the experience :) That stream you're fishing in the post looks absolutely gorgeous though, and with the town and architechture looks surreal! Never been to Germany! Good luck for the season and tight lines!
