My new Astrophytum!

Astrophytum is a small cactus genus.
It got its name because of its appearance.
The name Astrophytum is a fusion of druh Greek words:
Asteri - "star" and "phyto" - a plant.
Astrophytum has from 3 to 10 ribs.
It grows slowly.
Flowers persist for 2-3 days.
Buds bloom very quickly.
If you properly care for Astrophytum, it will bloom from spring to autumn!

Specks on the ribs are used to accumulate moisture from the air.
It is very important to protect the Astrophytum from rain.
It is necessary to water a cactus only after full drying of the soil.
The Astrophytum does not like transplantation, therefore it needs to be transplanted only in extreme cases.
Moreover, its root neck should be planted at the same level as it was before !!!
Otherwise, the cactus can rot !!!
