The Jersey Devil is perhaps one of America's most infamous cryptids. Named the Jersey Devil, as it resides in the Pine Barrens of the northeastern state New Jersey, heavily forested coastal lands.
Descriptions of the monster vary, but most agree that the Jersey Devil is an extremely large creature, with enormous, bat-like wings. Legend has it that the Jersey Devil makes only one noise: a blood-curdling screech. The Jersey Devil is said to have goat-like features, hooved feet, and a forked tail. Some accounts describe it as having terrible, red eyes.
Another name for the Jersey Devil is the Leed's Devil, as a local legend states that a Mrs. Leeds, distraught upon learning that she was pregnant for a 13th time said "Let him be the devil". As fate would have it, she went in to labor prematurely, and gave birth to a heinous demon creature with wings. First it killed the midwife, then fled through the window towards the pine forests that it would make its home.
The creature is known to kill animals, destroy crops, and cause general panic and unease in communities where he is spotted.
The creature is such a big part of local folklore, that the New Jersey hockey team was named after the Jersey Devil. Over the years, many seeking proof have offered cash rewards for capture of the Jersey Devil, with the highest offer being $100,000.

Oh. So this is jersey devil
Yep! In the pine barrens. So many reports on this monster.

I have heard of the New Jersey Devils (hockey team) but didn't know it was based on a real cryptid. The story doesn't quite fit the image. it looks like a friendly camel with wings lol. The legend is pretty neat though.
