McDonald's isn't out of burgers due to Scott Travis promotion!

in #food4 years ago

McDonald's has been using the face of "Tarvis Scott" (if you had to look him up, don't be embarrassed, I have no idea who he is) to sell meat to overfed Americans, and claims this had led to a shortage of shredded cow flesh pucks (aka "ground beef patties").

A black person with a shiny medallion being paid to encourage others to eat a special limited-time McDonald's beef product.

My observations:

  1. It's just a Quarter Pounder with bacon and lettuce, dubbed a "Cactus Jack". You could always ask for lettuce on your Quarter Pounder. This isn't even a real promotion!
  2. I've never heard of this guy. Most likely a "rapper". Hiphop music arose out of the black and poor person's struggle against the state, and there are many examples even today of conscious and high-quality rap music. I personally enjoy Disl Automatic, K-Rino, and Steve Grant. But you have to venture out of the mainstream if you want anything other than braindead talentless morons rambling about abusing prescription pills, drinking fancy booze, selling crack, killing each other, and abusing women. That's all the mainstream promotes. Real rap is in the underground.
  3. Using black people as a way to sell enslaved and abused animal flesh is a special kind of evil irony - especially when others foolishly applaud this as anti-racism. Just like the entire BLM movement, this McDonald's promotion is racist. Travi Scott is tool-of-the-month.
  4. There's a massive food shortage broiling underneath the surface right now. In the West, it's still in early stages, but in the coming months (winter) we are going to see another leg down in the economy - and stability of the food chain.

Was this Trevor Scott "collab" really such a success that the nation's supply of burger ingredients has been exhausted?

Or...

... Was there already a looming food shortage not being reported in the mainstream media?

For a taste of real hiphop, try Disl Automatic and go from there.

And consider storing a little bit of real food for the coming winter. The "Cactus Jack" (ie: meat, wheat, and lettuce) is only available for a limited time.

Straight up!

"We complain about racism, elevate clowns, with they're trousers down, swinging their dick round. Mabe that is not quite literal, but everything they do is just as stereotypical." Akalla - Find no Enemy

Yeah Yeah always down for some Disl Automatic!!

True! They don't care about us. That's why they're playing all these sides against each other.

McD's has tasty fries, but everything else is gross. And the fries in the USA have some nasty ingredients in them.

Have you heard of the Boston rapper Mr. Lif? He’s got some incredible lyrics, completely different than the swill that’s plays on the radio. I’ll check out the one you linked.

Home of the brave

That was pretty dope. The beat was good and the theme is on point. I couldn't catch all the lyrics the first time through but I heard plenty of knowledge. Thanks for the link!

Think it's post-covid, we heard something about getting arrested for walking in groups more than 2. Yikes!

Yeah for sure you’re welcome! There’s a couple local New England lyricists that do a damn good job of putting out some powerful songs but also have some incredible beats.

I think because I listen to Lif a lot I hear all the words but with him I can definitely see that you have to get used to his voice.

So much of Lif’s material is full of powerful stuff from a lyrics perspective. I love his earlier albums but his recent stuff is good too.

Then you’ve got this guy from Rhode Island I think, sage francis. This is one of my favorite songs of his.

Sage Francis - Slow down Gandhi

And a different guy from Boston, virtuoso. I got into him for his beats but then I started to pay attention to the lyrics and he’s great!
Virtuoso - Fahrenheit 911

Edit- I just listened to the guy you linked, DISL automatic and he’s got some good flow and his lyrics destroy these radio tools. I’ve got another rapper I listen to that sounds very similar to him but I don’t want to keep dropping links so let me know if you want one more lol

Thanks, those were both great conscious tracks. I was feeling Virtuoso a bit more. I'm quite picky, I want an aesthetic sound, but even more important is the lyrical content and skill.

You may already know Steve Grant but if not, and you have 5 minutes to listen, here's one of his bangers:

Yep I agree store extra food.

HI-Jived! 🙏😎🥓👍

Would you believe me if I said I've never played Fortnite? It's true. I even had to check to see if it was "night" or "nite". I've never even seen anyone else play it. Weird, yea?

I have overwhelmed envy over that good sir!
I had never heard of this Travis Scott until now either. 😐👍
Weird frankly.

I'm always promoting my man Tom MacDonald....this post specifically seems fitting. No manager, no publicist, no PR, no marketing, nada....just him and his girl.

He's awesome! :-)

McDonalds should have "collabbed" with Tom MacDonald instead!

Bahah, yeah I found Tom a couple years back, that track was one that I liked a lot. Whiteboy was also bang on! To be honest, that's one criticism I have with my brother Disl Auto - he's almost apologetic for being white. I realize I don't understand ALL the nuances of race and hiphop, but I'm certain that Disl has gone too far into social justice warrior land. I think it's the influence from his sister Sinthesis (featured in some of his music). She's a hardcore 3rd wave feminist. I feel like sexism and racism are problems, but they have both been amplified and blown out of proportion, to be used against us the people. I'm egalitarian - full on equality for all humans. I don't like anti-racism. To me, anti-racism is racist. We need to get over our differences, not play the victim card, while everyone without a card has to grovel and pay reparations. BLM is racist, and perpetuates inequality. Just like 3rd wave feminism is sexist, and perpetuates sexism. What we need is equality, not racism to fight racism, or sexism to fight sexism. So it's nice when rappers like Tom are willing to be real on that topic.

True, DISL did go hardcore into the pawn movements, but I think/hope he's starting to realize it and regrets some of his stances. It's a lesson to be learned...are we sometimes being pawns or useful idiots when we think we're doing good? But being egalitarian without subscribing to ideologies...and asking these questions to keep yourself in check is probably a sign you're on the right track.

I may not be spendig a ton of time writing all over the place, but I will discuss issues and attempt to share news that no one else does. Why the ignore bruh? I dont post very often. I think we are very like minded.
