Birthday And Thanksgiving Celebration

in #foodielast year

Last night we celebrated the 30th birthday of my son who now lives outside of the country because of his work. He may not be here with us but the party surely made us feel that he is just around. Thank you to todays technology which makes it easier and more convenient to connect to those who are miles away. On the other side of the globe, is my brother who is celebrating thanksgiving. He wanted us to celebrate this occasion too because he misses us here in the Philippines. My sister bought a turkey ham for that reason which is the easiest way to have a turkey on the table. Last year we tried to buy a real turkey and it was not easy preparing the bird as first timers. It was fun and there were a lot of friends and relative who came in the event. Really thankful indeed.

Like I always do, I am in charge of the food preparation. I made easy to cook family favorite meals like a fried chicken. You can never go wrong with this. See the texture? tempting and yummy.

and this one is good for those who do not eat meat but it tastes like meat. A crowd favorite I must say and the guests even requested to take some home. This is a simple fried crunchy tofu but very delicious. Guests love the garlicky flavor and said it goes well with a glass of beer.

and another chicken dish I know there is too much of it.

Finally, it would not be a complete pinoy table without a pancit. Another crowd favorite I must say. Simot sarap ang pancit. Hindi na ako natirhan. I am happy still knowing that they like it. It took a few more hours before the guests left. Had some fun and games for the kids.
