Brazil hosted this tournament for the second time since 1950. This was the fifth opportunity when South America organized a global tournament. The final match was played between Argentina and Germany. This match was between, the best team (Germany) and the world's best player (Lionel Messi). But in this match, Germany's player Mario show his strength. After the start of the match, seeing the thrilling adventures every moment, Messi would fulfill his dream of winning the World Cup by dividing Germany's wall, but it did not happen. There was no result in the 90-minute match. The match was decided in extra time. This was the time when Germany's Mario scored a big goal, and Germany became the fourth world champion.

Brazil's biggest defeat.

In the semi-finals, hosts Brazil faced a humiliating loss from Germany 1-7. The five-time champion had the biggest defeat in the World Cup. In this match, Brazil's star player Neymar could not play because of a back injury. The team had to bear the loss. Brazil lost to the Netherlands by 0-3 and finished fourth. Last champion Spain got out in the first round. Italy and England also came out in the first round.

First time happened.

Germany was the first world title in the form of an integrated nation. For the first time, nations of the same continent (Europe) won three consecutive World Cups (Italy in 2006, Spain in 2010, Germany in 2014).
