You can get some of the best apples in the world, especially red delicious, but you have to be careful. Some of them have been in cold storage for close to a year. They look great and can still taste good, but they get mushy and rot from the inside out. Lots of orchards rotate this years crop into cold storage and last years crop out of cold storage to be sold.
