These prickly hugs were from our trip to the Arizona- Sonora Desert Museum
and the Saguaro National Park. I found it very interesting that the trees would grow up and around the saguaros in a way that it looks like they are hugging the cactus.

Jumping Cholla do just that detach and then attach themselves (and their long spikes) to things that pass by, or in this case get to close.

Yes, the straight ones with arms can be up to 12 meters tall.
Prickly hug! Seems risky ha. The jumping cholla remind me of standard burs but a little more dangerous lol
