Even as your post pointed out the sad parts of Steemit, I still laughed, because of your funny writing style.
I am on Steemit for almost 1 year now and I can tell you the fact that there are a lot of South-Asian Good Ambassadors and Shit Pumpers on the site.
Actually, there is a specific/separate place for Shit Pumpers on the Steem Blockchain. It's called "dMania". It's like "DTube", but with memes.
Beside dMania, Steemit also have a lot of Shit Pumpers, especially when we talking about the "caught your attention by following you" part.
To explain why the Why-Do-I-Even-Have-A-Camera - people doing their thing is simple.
They are doing it just because why the D-Fags are doing their thing. The money. The easy money. Or at least this is what they think.
For my part I realize that there are few people like you on this platform that can be as honest and without filters as you. It's something that I realized too (and my wife knew it from the first moment). It's something like "I blow you flowers and you throw flowers at me too" just for a few SBDs. Not bad but many are very obvious:

LMFAO. I feel like 2016-2017 were the years where everyone just pandered to everyone with mindless positive banter for votes and 2018 is the year people start telling it like it is on Steemit.

Person No. 1 should be called Steem-Thots. With person No. 2, you'll notice the youtuber that has come over, always has 100% voting power available bc they just upload their content and give absolutely nothing back to the community or even their followers.
Person 3 and 4 I have nothing to add, but I laughed out loud pretty hard (especially for 3).
Person No. 5 is just your typical toxic person, although it's possible they are correct.
But any currency relies on the psychological phenomena that people will want to use it and when they no longer want to use it, it will go to 0. They equate this to a ponzi scheme, yet participate willingly.
I think the little Youtube migration were seeing right now is really interesting. Without calling out any specific names when I look at peoples voting most of these Youtubers come and post and vote for themselves.
Its somewhat frustrating to see some of them post a bullshit meme that was a screenshot from their phone they didn't even bother to crop and it makes $150 and then someone smaller posts a great piece of longform content with a lot of media and they earn $1.
Somethign I would like to see regarding this is don't just upvote someone because they are a Youtube star, if they make great content awesome give them 100% but don't upvote just because of who they are, that's actually bad for the platform IMHO.
I have a feeling Youtubers will come here, soak up rewards, the next big thing will come along, they will be forgoten about and disapear and the cycle will continue.
Allthis said there are some people who actually try to be part of the community. I started on Youtube, came here with about 60k subs on Youtube back last summer and I'm still here.

this is funny. I must be lucky because I see none of the things you so amusingly shared though. The one for me is the steemit/ bit or crypto coin lover that posts about that all day long. I upvote whatever I like, just like back when I did the popular social media sites. What would be the motivation not to upvote? Does it take 'money' (steem or whatever it is) away from my account to upvote?

Hey man all I do is bleed in my feed, if you haven't noticed. I originally came here to self therapy. Get out the poison - talk my shit out to myself and have a place to put it. There are more categories, but you pegged most of us. I think if the country were run by comics we'd have: more than enough transparency (more than we'd ever ask for), no need for term limits (guarantee them $100k/year they wind up dead within four years), virtually no fiscal crisis (these people make a packet of ensure last two weeks for their diet), there wouldn't be a war on drugs-there would be wars to get your drugs (to lock up as evidence of course).
