Similar to last year, the event requires players to grind out virtually every type of game mode to achieve a fully upgraded set of armor. It seems like they did relax some requirements this year as some milestones are achieved with much less work this year than last year. I still remember playing too many strikes and crucible matches last year that got me too bored after I was half way through. It also made me really not play much once it was achieved as the armor process was changing right after that Season.
With the new content Beyond Light being delayed to November now, it at least puts something on the list to continue playing with that is somewhat different. While it may be repeated content, I have learned that grinding the game has gained more purpose as we prepare for the future expansions with getting materials and different setups for future potential events. I continue to be excited despite being mostly a solo player at the moment as most continue to play other games!
