Good day players!
The Holybread Closed Beta Server for Season 1 went live a few minutes ago.
What is this?
When we acquired Holybread on 5/22/2020 we spend time stabilizing and improving the game. The code base we inherited did some things well, but limited us on our ability to scale.
About 6 weeks later we decided we needed a new Core or "engine" for the game. We started with a blank screen and wrote an entire brand new code base.
This is our test for functionality.
What is Next?
After this test with a hand picked few Beta Testers.
We will move to a larger Server and faster connection for the game & then will move into an OPEN Beta for everyone.
The purpose of the OPEN Beta will be load testing.
What can I expect?
If you are a current player not in the Beta, then you will not notice anything. You can continue to battle and climb the arena for larger rewards.
The Arena Reward Upvote Bot crossed 14,000HP this week!
If you are a member of the Beta Test you can check by going to the discord and if you can see the Beta-Test channel you are in.
You will still see Artwork and UI changes throughout the BETA and may encounter some bugs. You will not see whole overhauls of the code.
In fact 2 days ago we decided to scrap our entire combat system and rebuild it!! Those are the things that happen in an Alpha test not a Beta Test.
How will I know what is happening?
Well, I am hoping the Beta Test Players write up posts about what we are doing and spread the word.
The DEV team will not be posting much as. We will be quite active (more than normal) in the discord channels.
This is an exciting day for our team!
